Banyan Tree Bintan

Spacious private villa with a stunning view, the territory is very well maintained. Real gateway from reality. Connected to other two hotels including golf field and tennis court. Beach is long and white. Check in was smooth. Thai restaurant is amazing: food and service are at high level. Greek restaurant service is also great. Spa is a must when visiting this hotel.

The lady at the reception was not cooperative when we asked for late check out. Of course it’s not hotel’s obligation but we could see just non willingness to make an effort and accommodate our request even having the opportunity to do so. Tennis court clearly needs restoration. And the machines in the gym were not clean…

We liked the hospitality, food, staff took good care. Spa. Access to clean beach. Nice villa with warm housekeeping staff taking care of all the needs.

Nothing much, we didn't like.

We had a wonderful three-night stay at Banyan Tree Bintan and the staff truly made the experience special. Every team member we encountered was warm, professional and genuinely caring — the service was exceptional from start to finish. The food was also outstanding, with excellent variety and quality throughout our stay. The resort itself is set in a beautiful location and we left feeling relaxed and very well looked after. The only reason I haven’t given a perfect score for the property itself is that some areas of the resort are beginning to feel a little dated compared to newer luxury resorts in the region. That said, the incredible staff and overall experience more than compensated, and we would happily return. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable.

It time to slowly upgrade the resort as it is looking dated in some areas.

The only five star resort in the main stretch of Bintan beach. The food at the restaurants is also delicious. The villas are big but showing the age (private pool).

At check -out, we were charged for the tote bag that was inside our closet. In 5 star resorts, these are usually for use for guests. They insisted there was a price tag so we had to pay at check-out cos the bag was packed inside the luggage. However, I sent a photo as proof afterwards that for this particular bag, there was indeed no price tag thus we thought it was for guests to bring with them. They stopped responding to my last message when I raised it and insisted we were wrong. It’s a shame that they are doubting the honesty of their guests for a 5 star resort that charges 500++ GBP per night. Really disappointing.
