A right on a beach accommodation, with a coral reef just in front.

If you are coming to North West Bali for snorkeling, this is the place you should book. The reef is just in front of the complex and you have direct access to it. You can rent snorkeling (or diving) gear on the spot. Beautiful quiet garden, several accommodation levels to choose from. Fair food but served directly on the beach, in the shade of old trees. All in all, great experience, you should try!

Great place to relax and unwind we were sad to leave

So pretty the grounds were pristine with the gardeners doing a fantastic job with so many trees and flowers everywhere it really was pretty. Loved the location and the beach especially having breakfast right by the water.

This property requires patience but very good. It is at best a 7/10 but occasionally a 4/10.

This is a very strange property. We have lived in Bali for 15 years and been coming here for 25. We know Bali very well. This property can rate as a 9/10 or a 3/10. The staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious, it is good value and the location is nice. The community cleans the garbage from the beach and the water is nice. It is easy to scuba and view with the onsite services. Even though our first stay was not great, we came back and I would go back.

The properth has a massive issue with mosquitos, not just outside but inside. Some of my friends said the same and one of them wanted to move to a new location because of this but he stayed. The biggest issue is the music from the local village. Some of the staff will say it is just a ceremony or something. It isn't. It is karaoke or loud music. In the first villa, Shanti 3, where I stayed, I had to move the next night. And one of the night staff said that the music happens every night. My next room was better but mosquito issues. I came back, however. This last stay there were still mosquito problems outside but they don't supply water to the Lotus 3 villa. It is outside and they tell you to bring a glass. Also, you can hear the music when outside from here. But this room was nice.

Lovely venue, outstanding gardens.

The grounds and facilities were excellent. The spa staff were excellent and I highly commend my masseuse and the manager of the spa.

While staff were friendly, I was very disappointed to note that most staff with the exception of the gardeners were completely engrossed in their phones. Most service staff including the managers were on their phones all the time and barely looked up. On one occasion, in the evening, the beach bar seemed to have no bar tenders and I waited for some time for service. There was none. When I actually went to the bar itself, I discovered two staff members lying on cushions behind the bar on their phones. Their attention was not on the guests as it should have been. I would expect that when staff are at work and getting paid, that their attention is on the job, that their phones are packed away and that the guests don’t feel ignored. The cooked breakfast also needs attention.

A very peaceful experience worth the long drive up.

The resort was exceptional value for money. We stayed in the deluxe bungalows which were beautiful and spacious with a lovely relaxing day bed out front. The pools and pool area were fantastic and situated close to the beach. We snorkelled every day right out the front of the resort. Breakfast on the beach was a nice relaxing experience with the staff always so pleasant.

Beach stay with snorkelling and attentive service.

What better location to stay than by the beach with amazing service, beach lounges, pools, incredibly talented gardeners, efficient management and housekeeping, and good massages. Mostly European holiday-makers looking for a quiet, authentic experience. Bio rock out the front is substantial, attracting colourful fish close to the beach. Permuteran council has been considerate of their plastic-free, enviornmental outlook and banning beach sellers from hassling visitors. The dive/snorkelling service on the property has taken us out to the island three times for incredible snorkelling. Entertainment at dinner a couple of times a week, breakfast can be taken with your feet in the sand, room service is attentive with lighting mozzie coils each evening and laundry is reasonably priced. Mosque is far enough away to not wake you up, for those not of the religion. We've returned here a couple of times, as the property is wonderful value for money, we enjoy a quiet experience and snorkelling daily.

We loved Taman Sari, and will return again soon.

Very relaxing

The location is stunning. The Deluxe room and the studio that we booked were both nice. Overall the resort is well kept and looks beautiful.

The food mediocre at best. Not really tasty and the menu is quite boring. Same goes for breakfast, its just not at a very high standard.

Beautiful beachfront hotel in the peaceful north West with some notable shortcomings

Beautiful beachfront hotel with some notable shortcomings The Tamansari Bali Resort Hotel is beautifully located directly on the beach and overall a very well-maintained property. The location is definitely one of its biggest strengths — you step out of the hotel and are immediately on the sand, right by the sea. The rooms are tidy, clean, and well maintained. The mattresses are comfortable, everything works properly, and cleanliness is excellent. The bed linen was fresh and clean, and the white towels were truly white and spotless, which is unfortunately not always a given. There are also separate towels available at the pool. Housekeeping was done daily and very thoroughly, and the room service staff was attentive and reliable. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar. The restaurant is located directly on the beach, allowing guests to dine with their feet in the sand, which creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant service staff is attentive and friendly, and room service was also very good — we felt well looked after in this area. Overall impression A very beautiful hotel with an excellent beachfront location, clean rooms, and generally attentive service. Unfortunately, the poor pool hygiene, unmotivated bar staff, and weak breakfast experience significantly affected our stay. With better pool management, improved bar service, and a more thoughtfully prepared breakfast, this hotel has the potential to be truly outstanding.

Points of criticism Unfortunately, the pool was a major downside. The water was not clear, and we repeatedly observed guests swimming in regular clothing, including T-shirts and sportswear instead of swimwear. This clearly affected the water quality and made the pool feel unhygienic and unpleasant. Another significant issue was the bar service. Especially on the evening of the 25th, the bar staff appeared extremely unmotivated. At two tables, no orders were taken at all. Staff members were lying on mattresses next to the bar and made no effort to serve guests. A neighboring table waited about 15 minutes before getting up and leaving. The mango smoothie, which we had ordered on several previous days and enjoyed, tasted completely different and bland on that evening — as if it had been made carelessly or without proper ingredients. When we placed our order, the staff even rolled their eyes. We eventually switched to beer, as it seemed like the safest option. This was very disappointing, especially since the rest of the hotel staff appeared motivated and professional. Breakfast The breakfast was rather uninspired and lacked flavor. The fruit selection — especially pineapple and watermelon — was often very bland. After two days, we stopped ordering the freshly pressed juice in the mornings because it simply tasted like nothing. The omelettes were frequently completely unseasoned. The breakfast felt somewhat careless and could benefit greatly from more attention to taste, better fruit quality, and options like a smoothie bowl.

Great location

We enjoyed our room and the grounds of the property. Great beach location. We dived at the Biorock right in front of the resort making it very convenient. The restaurant was decent though not the best. Did laundry here which was done well and quickly. Staff were very helpful when they allowed us to use the guest showers even after checkout and allowed us to store our bags at reception for a number of hours.

Waiters were a bit slow and I ended up walking to them to request items.

A relaxing, beautiful place to stay. Walk to the beach in one minute, to town in 7 minutes.

I had my own bungalow complete with outdoor shower. It was very well appointed, comfortable bed and furniture, and very quiet at night. Taman is just beautiful, on the sea. The restaurant and bar are open-air style, so you can enjoy your meal and stare at the sea. There is musical or dance entertainment at night sometimes. As was true everywhere in Bali, the staff were incredibly friendly. At one point I needed transportation, and in 5 minutes they arranged for someone to take me where I needed to go. Food was very good, breakfast was included and delicious. They can also arrange scuba and snorkeling and other excursions.

Exceeded Expectations - Great Bali Hotel

This place exceeded expectations. Love the old school Bali feel too it with lush gardens and SPACE, so many newer places now leave no space for gardens. It's filled with many cute bungalow rooms, pools, snorkeling facilites, biorock for coral, beachfront views, restaurant, etc.

In the rooms they gave glass water bottles which was great! But the snorkeling boat we used from the hotel used a lot of single use plastic packaging, cutleries, and water bottles which is really a shame. If they could help with changing that to a more sustainable options that would be amazingggg.

Beach Paradise

This hotel is in paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our suite with sea view was lovely. It was spacious and very clean and we liked the outdoor bathroom. The staff are all very friendly and the resort grounds are very well kept. The hardest decision to make was whether to spend the day by the pool or on the beach lounge with a lovely view. There are plenty of warungs nearby.

Even though we enjoyed our stay and the suite was beautiful we didn't think it was value for the money. If we ever return we would go for a less expensive room provided it's available. No fault of the resort but the gecko visiting us at night was very noisy.

Fantastic resort with bad food

The resort is beautiful. Located in a beachfront valley with a gorgeous mountainous backdrop. The gardens are impeccable and beautiful. Staff is friendly and polite. Rooms were comfortable.

The only thing we didn't like is the food in the restaurant. Considering the excellence of the resort in other areas, the food served is surprisingly terrible. Luckily there are other restaurants nearby. Those were much better.

Very beautiful location, garden surrounding the hotel is fantastic! Very well planned rooms which are truly comfortable, air-conditioning works well. Very tasty food in hotel restaurant but other restaurants in the city are also reachable by walk. Pools and beaches are cared for. Ideal comfy location for family holiday in the north of Bali.

There are items from restaurant which we have not ordered in our final bill. I hope that it was added by mistake or accident but please check your bills closely when you perform your check out. These items were finally removed but it took some time to solve this issue at check out.

The staff were fabulous! The sea was amazing, great warm temp and lots of fish right out front of the resort! The restaurant on the beach was a great place, feet in the sand breakfast lunch and dinner. Entertainment was also fabulous!!!!

West Bali experience

The gardens and beach are first rate, and being set back well away from the main road it is very quiet and peaceful.

This is a great resort if you like large ones, as it lacks the intimacy of smaller resorts. The snorkeling off the beach is very average but there are plenty of tours that take you to excellent coral - we used West Bali Explorer (great) but Taman Sari has in-house tours as well.

We stayed in one of the Lotus villas at Taman Sari. The whole park is amazing, located at the foothills of the moutains and right at the sea shore. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a nice restaurant that serves a great breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sunbeds on the beach and the pool offer enough shade.

We had a private villa which was lovely. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Pool and beach access good. Staff all super friendly and helpful Excellent spa.

I lovely Resort near the beach with the easy access to Biorock

Room, pool, restaurant, close to the beach and off beach snorkelling. It was also an easy walk to another three different restaurants along the beach. The Taman Sari spa was very good as well. In the late afternoon, a member of staff would come up and light mosquito cause back in front. We loved the band Ryan acoustics.

A/C was a bit noisy with a ratty noise.

The location and staff make this a great place to stay

Great location, comfortable room and very welcoming,helpful staff. We arrived late so went straight to dinner and discovered a few issues in our room at bedtime. They were so kind to help fix everything on the spot! A lovely spot to swim in the ocean and to snorkel to see the work being done to renew the coral. We really enjoyed breakfast on the beach and the Saturday night band.

We thought the outings and spa were very expensive compared to the cost outside the resort. We found that the spa massage was not special enough for the cost (compared to other Bali Spas)

Good resort in more relaxed part of Bali

Right on the beach, this resort has a lot to offer. Clean, tidy, and well maintained. There are local off-resort but on beach dining options, which is also a plus. On beach breakfast is really nice, particularly given included in price.

Beach music until 915pm, followed by call to prayer from the local mosque at 5am means this is not the quietest. Also wifi can be dodgy and slow.

Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Breakfast

Taman Sari has beautiful grounds and a lovely location close to the beach, which we really appreciated.

The breakfast was unfortunately the most disappointing we’ve had during our month of travel. Even the fruit selection was minimal, and the coffee was entirely lacking in flavor or aroma. The grilled mushrooms were consistently served at room temperature, with a texture more like boiled than grilled. As for the eggs, they never quite turned out right, regardless of the style requested (sunny side up, over easy, etc.), they all looked the same: pale, very runny, and similar to poached eggs. Perhaps they were cooked under a lid, which explains the lack of crisp edges. We didn’t dare trying the restaurant for other meals, but fortunately, there are several nearby family-run warungs that serve delicious food.

Amazing all-inclusive resort!

This is an amazing all-inclusive report and spa with beach access where you can snorkel around the Biorock. The food is delicious and all the staff are wonderful and attentive. Eating on the beach was really lovely. While secluded, it is easy to walk to local warnings or markets. The spa offerings and staff are absolutely terrific!
