Nice big bedroom, large shower, little patio outside, close to good restaurants, the staff was super helpful carrying my big suitcase up the stairs (a lot of stairs, but it’s Scotland so it’s fine). This was my last hotel during my trip so it was nice to have this comfortable room.
I honestly liked everything :)

This is not a hotel
I booked this hotel from Thursday to Sunday for 2
We where in room 69
I must say we where very disappointed by this room
It’s old and tired looking and the quilt was ragged the fan in the bathroom sounded if it was going to take off
The room was so cold
The base of the bed was all dirty
the door to the room looked like someone had kicked it in
We booked this as it looked so lovely on line
This was the first time in Edinburgh and we felt we had rented a run down room in a building
This is not a superior room

We liked that the rooms were spacious with incredibly comfortable beds! The pillows were slightly thin so had to ask for extra pillows but they accommodated us beautifully! All the facilities were good, ensuite and the view, the staff were warm, welcoming and happy to help with queries we had.
Dogs were not allowed in the dining room for breakfast, which is a big issue for us as we travel everywhere with our boy! He’s a well behaved dog but we were not told this before booking for breakfast.. this meant we missed out on money and breakfast during our stay.
The room was incredibly hot (even with radiators turned down) which made it quite uncomfortable. It also didn’t help that you could hear the noises from other rooms and the outside, overall we didn’t sleep amazingly! However we did like the comfort of the bed.

The staff very friendly.
We were put in a room at the very top, with about five flight’s of stairs to navigate.which wasn’t good, has there were no lifts. And my wife as got very bad knees and back problems.

Good breakfast, location ideal for our visit. Staff friendly and helpful
The hotel consists of six separate buildings so if it’s raining getting to the main reception/ bar area gets you wet but I knew before I booked so not a serious problem

Room was really pretty, clean, location was great, really close from the tram.
The main heating in our room was barely hot + the one in the bathroom never worked. We were glad that there was a small electric one to do the job.
Let's say the staff was just there to be paid and not to go above any expectations. They were doing the bare minimum, no explainations on the area, some wouldn't even look you in the eyes when talking to you, nobody asked how the stay was,... Not mean nor unprofessional but not a really welcoming staff in my opinion

Great value for money. Friendly staff.
The bed could be a bit softer. Might be the only minus

The location was great. Just a minute from the station. The room was very clean. The staff were very polite
The room was very basic and really very tired. The bathroom in particular. The electric shower was temperamental and didn’t work properly on our last day. The room was very noisy. The windows are so thin you hear every road noise and I slept very poorly. The breakfast was poor. The continental pastries options were poor quality and the cooked breakfast was restrictive. The coffee was terrible.

The hotel was beautiful, a collection of town houses that have been converted into boutique hotel rooms. The staff were lovely and the room was clean, well looked after and very comfortable. As a solo traveller I was made to feel very welcome.
It was a little pricey, but it was in keeping with other hotels in the area so maybe that's just the going rate these days!

Perfect position for the tram for the airport and the city centre.
Very small bedroom.

The location for Edinburgh is convenient.
The property needs some TLC. Lamps were broken, windows were up for maintenance, staff was (too) busy.

Everything!! The staff was so nice and the place was very clean, close enough to old town, and quite lovely all around.

Beautiful old hotel. Great breakfast, and the location was good.
No lifts so not ideal for someone who would struggle with stairs.

Well decorated. Excellent location. Comfortable.
Poor temperature/pressure in the shower. Overly busy breakfast room…sometimes necessary to queue for breakfast.

Well located, near the city center and a lot of great restaurants. The room was small, it's a single room, but it was cozy and the bed was very confortable. The breakfast was amazing.
The shower drain was clogged. The window was stuck, l sent a message about it, but no one answered me. On my second day l arrived there and the spare key was in my door locker, probably because the cleaning person went to clean, but someone could've get inside my room, with my stuff there.

The staff are exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to public transportation. There are many nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Not a bad walk into Edinburgh center - did it many times. They were so nice about trying to get us into our room quickly.
We stayed in a bottom floor room that had a musty smell that made me sneeze. We had another room in basement and it was absolutely fine.

Hotel was well located. It was basic but clean and the staff were great. It also offered a competitive rate during high season. Close to Murrayfield and on the AirPort Express bus route.
Room was located offsite i.e. 3 doors down.

Staff were very accommodating to our shifted itinerary. Organized breakfast.
Room was uncomfortably hot on occasions.

I enjoyed the central location, the width of the room, and the bathroom. The last one is spacious and almost new.
Unfortunately, for security reasons, the windows open very little. This was both a problem on warm days and for my inadaptability to stay in closed spaces. I suggest installing other barriers, but the windows should still be able to open.
The view from the window was wasted by the rubbish in the nearby properties.

Great location, friendly staff ,breakfast was ok ,the train station is close by
There was no elevator so it was difficult to go the room on the top floor with a large suitcase
8.0 / 10.0
Quality towels and linen, comfortable beds. Great location near the tram or only about 20 min walk to the town centre. Staff were very nice. Plenty places to eat as well as a pharmacy close by.
The only thing I would say is a better light blocking window covering, curtain or blind would help. Not used to sunlight late into the night made it hard to sleep. So bring an eye mask.

Good location, clean and comfortable.
Car parking was awkward.

The location was great, and the room was very comfortable. Many pubs nearby and even a bus and tram stop a few meters away. They counted with breakfast and bar in their installations. But there are some bakeries nearby to.

I had a wonderful stay at the Haymarket Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. A special thank you to Ginger, who went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly and helped arrange an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. Overall, a fantastic experience — I’d definitely stay here again!
The only downside was that I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

Close to Haymarket Station. Room was clean.
Bed was uncomfortable, very expensive for what you get and did not include breakfast

So close to the tram, bus, train. Room was a good size. Bathroom was a good size. Hot water, good water pressure. Clean room.
Pillows in most hotels overseas leave a lot to be desired.

Wonderful location convenient to tram and railway. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast and lovely staff. Rooms have tall ceilings and are generous in size. Top floor was quiet, especially rooms away from the street. Loved the vibe of the area.
Top floor room would sometimes not have hot water, but only briefly, and room itself could be a bit warm. Lower street facing rooms mentioned that traffic and people outside were sometimes rather loud.

The Haymarket is a charming series of contiguous Georgian houses along a cobblestoned Edinburgh street. Its rooms are very comfortable and have the high ceilings and plasterwork characteristic of the period. Everything worked well, from the showers to the WiFi. And the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
It was not a major problem, but the cobblestones of the road mean that even a quiet vehicle sounds quite noisy passing down the road in the night.

Location, friendly staff, clean rooms! I will definitely come back!
I loved my room, cozy and nice but because it’s a residential property, each room is of different size.
I got the smallest compare to my friends and we all paid the same price. Their room and bathroom was double the size. I should not have been charged the same price as others.
10.0 / 10.0
Good location. A short walk to the train station and easy access to Edinburgh sites.
I have nothing to complain about. It was more expensive than I had planned on spending, but I needed someplace in that location and was only spending one night. It was worth it.
