St Helens Hotel, Dublin

Location was great, so close to the city but felt secluded and quiet. Property itself was stunning! Rooms were extremely comfortable and the staff were more than accommodating.

We had no issues with our stay!

I never give 10/10 reviews but this place was just so lovely there was no other choice! The bar and restaurant were also just brilliant and all your staff were great and the food delicious (burger at the bar was just great!)

Overall, the room was nice and comfortable, although it did feel a little dated and could use some upkeep. It was the smaller details, particularly in the bathroom, that made the room feel a bit worn and in need of some attention. The overnight reception staff were especially friendly and helpful, which was really appreciated. Unfortunately, the daytime and evening staff weren’t quite as attentive or accommodating, so the level of service felt inconsistent. For the price I was paying, I expected a little more attention to detail, better upkeep, and a higher standard of service overall.

Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow and inattentive. After being seated, I waited 20 minutes without anyone coming over to take my order. Throughout the visit, it felt like pulling teeth just to get the servers to do the basics of their job. Whether it was taking my order, checking if I wanted another drink, offering a dessert menu, or bringing the check, I constantly had to flag someone down. Even after requesting the check, I had to track someone down again just to pay. What made the experience even more frustrating was that other tables around me didn’t seem to be having the same service issues. I’m not sure if it was because I was dining alone or appeared younger, but my time and money are just as valuable as anyone else’s. Every guest deserves the same level of attention and service, regardless of whether they’re dining solo or with a group. Overall, a really disappointing experience, especially when the issues could have easily been avoided with even a little attentiveness.
