    We booked the deluxe room with horizon club access but when we checked in, the hotel is only giving us the deluxe room without the club access. The hotel didnt honor our booking confirmation from agoda that has the specific room type. We contacted agoda and said there were issues with their supplier. Then there’s this Indian girl from Customer Service who called me again and said they cant give the room type I actually booked and offered me 100 usd agoda cash - which is not even enough to compensate for the price difference between those room types. They eventually gave us the room type we booked few hours after declining Agoda’s offer. The hotel is good. The club access is an excellent perk as it gives you access to the lounge for free breakfast, all day snacks and coffee. However, the experience (check in process) was a fight and quite embarrassing. Imagine flying international with kids and old companions, then getting denied of the room type you specifically booked, planned, and looked forward to. Very unpleasant experience!

    We booked with a horizon deluxe room which has club lounge access with agoda. However, the check in staff did not acknowledged our agoda booking saying the reservation made is only for a regular deluxe room. Called agoda, said they will fix it. And then they called back saying there were issues with their supplier. Then theres another indian girl from customer service offering 100 usd agoda cash as a compensation to stay at a regular deluxe room. We turned it down, ofcourse. They eventually move us to the horizon deluxe room after few hours. The horizon rooms have lounge access for free breakfast and all day snacks and coffee. 100 usd agoda cash is not even enough to compensate the price difference between horizon type vs regular deluxe room. The hotel is excellent. But the check in process with the staff and agoda was a fight and an embarrassing experience. Very unpleasant especially when im travelling with kids and old companions!! Never had this issue with agoda before.

    Not 5 star for sure. Perhaps 4 max. Staff not attentive. And we have to queue for 30min in line for check in without any service by staff. Shortage of staffs. And no clean service when i was back to hotel around 4pm. Gym is very old and malfunctioned. I have no idea why Shangri La tarnish their reputation providing below par service.
