This was ok for a one night stay , needs an update

Staff very friendly, was very central for visiting in the area

Was hot in room couldn’t open windows as they were old and seemed stuck. Also road noise an issue. This hotel needs updating, needs a fresh lick of paint everywhere. Toilet lid was dirty at the back (not cleaned properly)

Carpet very old & frayed on the stairs Needs all doors cleaned with some Pink Stuff to get rid of the grubby marks. This would then have a better first impression on guests before they see your lovely rooms Upgrade the mattress; some springs were visible & uncomfortable Chairs in the bar need throwing & replacing

Satisfied everything that I required for my stay

Great breakfast, large comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good location in the heart of Long Melford with lots of free parking. Very good value. Must be good otherwise I wouldn’t have stayed there 3 times

The lack of a USB port to plug in my phone charger but no big deal as next time I will bring an adapter.

Great location, lovely welcoming staff, food and accommodation excellent!

Staff were really friendly and helpful, nice bar area. We had a meal in the evening which was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth the money. We also had a really nice family room - well two rooms which worked perfectly as there were 3 of us.

Perfect, comfortable, cosy, welcoming and we would stay there again and definitely recommend the hotel.

It was a quaint little pub/hotel set in a lovely village. The hotel had lots of character with wooden beams. The bedroom was cosy and very clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice.

Have been many times to the crown we love it ,feel very at home staff are always friendly josh and the ladies always have smiles on their faces and make us feel welcome .

We had our elderly mother in a room and it was difficult for her to navigate the stairs to the bathroom and open to doors.

Location was good for exploring neighbouring areas. Friendly stuff. Reasonably good value for money.

The beds were quite uncomfortable and the hot water took about 10 minutes to warm up in the shower. Extremely creaky floorboards, probably because it’s an old property. Quite a bit of noise travelling from other rooms.

Long Melford Stay

Central location. Good breakfast. Good sized room.

Decor was tired. Hot water not always on tap when required. Room was not as warm as we would have liked. Bed was not made up after our first night. Room cleanliness left much to be desired.

Very small on site car park. No space available there nor main road when we arrived (busy Saturday afternoon). However, local car park was near-by.

Nice accommodation let down by an uncomfortable bed

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The springs in the mattress had deteriorated to the point that the it was not smooth to lie on. I stayed in Room 7 in a single bed. A replacement would solve the problem

Very good breakfast, room was clean and tidy, obviously it’s a very old and historic building so the rooms are not brand new but they are clean and comfortable and considering the temperature outside had dropped quite a bit outside everywhere was warm in the building. The Booking.com website managed to mess up our booking but the owner noticed the anomaly and phoned to check and we got it sorted no problem.

The floor and bathroom looked in need of some TLC. There was no hot water - the staff advised to run the tap for 15+ minutes and it would turn warm but unfortunately it never did turn warm which is very disappointing. There were marks on the cot mattress and dressing table stool. Unable to make hot drinks as the kettle in the room was in desperate need of descaling.

Comfortable central location with parking

Clean, spacious room, comfortable bed, lots of storage space especially in the bathroom. Friendly staff, good breakfast offered. We plan to return when we next visit Long Melford, which we do on a regular basis.

There was no food available on the day we went so we went to the Bull along the road, who serve excellent food. The knee-room between the loo and shower was very tight in our room so would be very awkward for someone larger than us.

Great value for money in a lovely location. 5 stars

We booked on the day as a bit of a last minute decision to stay over for a wedding we were attending locally. The staff were immediately attentive and even granted us a later check out to suit our plans. The room was clean and the had everything we needed. I requested an iron at one point which was fetched for us with a full-sized ironing board. The breakfast was included the following day and was absolutely gorgeous.
