Shanghai Moller Villa Hotel

The property is unique in design ans construction and beautiful with a lovely garden in the back. The rooms are reasonable sized, modern, very clean. Service was excellent despite the occasional language barrier ( which the staff overcame quickly with phone APP translator).

Our room was very comfortable! Good bed, extra space, a comfortable bathroom. At first we thought we were far from everything, but then realized that South Shanxi Rd was a fantastic neighborhood! We really enjoyed being able to walk down the street and have lots of shops and restaurants and bars. And the room cleaning was great- the women always made sure our mini bar was fully stocked again, and they made sure I had plenty of decaf pods (which I’m sure they don’t get many requests for!)

The gym equipment didn’t work at all, and was barely a gym- 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and some interchangeable weights that were broken- and neither machine turned on. Also, we definitely had some “lost in translation” moments with the staff who didn’t speak great English. All worked out in the end, but explaining that we were getting some local package delivers (clothes, glasses, laundry that we sent out) was problematic!

Great location. And very cozy rooms. Very quiet

Good breakfast, staff was polite. Beautiful building and excellent location if you enjoy the western-style "party flavour" of the French Concession. Shout-out to the restaurant across the street, which was among the best we experienced during our week in Shanghai.

The building appeared to block mobile phone signals, a strange problem we had in no other places in China. Staff seemed almost eager to send guests on their way when it was time to end breakfast.
