Lovely room
Shower did splash quite far onto the tiles outside of the shower tray, not a massive issue but no other suitable location to apply makeup so was getting wet standing at the mirror

Lovely cottage, stayed in Angler. Lovely and clean and plenty of amenities inside cottage. Lovely surrounding area. Food at Antler restaurant was really nice.
Could maybe do with more parking on a weekend?

The cottage was lovely and clean
Antler bar staff didnt seem bothered. I booked a table online and no staff acknowledged me, I seen my name on table and just ended up sitting there ourselves, the waiter and person who brought the food however were lovely. My chicken burger was awful i couldn't finish it waste of money, the rest was nice though.

Really beautiful hotel with stunning rooms. Restaurants are beautiful!
Me and my children went to use the spa facilities and it was just overcrowded. At one point I seen about 8 teenage boys in the jacuzzi and sauna. There was no staff around to control the facilities and we literally helped ourselves to towels. The restaurant was exceptional, lovely staff and food was delicious. I’m disappointed with room service situation. I rang at 9.30 for in room breakfast service to be have an unhelpful receptionist saying ‘if you didn’t leave a sign on you’re door it’s not possible now’ to which I said I never received a door sign. Well they probably didn’t leave you one with room only.
I was abit taken back because other country manors are really helpful in the local area and I’ve never had a problem getting in room service. Overall it was a lovely room and I think that what made it for us!

The staff and the service we got was of a very high standard. Very attentive to our needs and requests, could not fault them
Unfortunately, I found the bed to be very uncomfortable for me. I left with pain in my hips and lower back, and was up for most of the night. We also checked out early the. next day.

The pool area was disgusting the hot tub had brown rings of muck around the inside, the pool water was murky. The changing room shower was freezing cold. The family room we had had no heating the thermostat was turned up to 30°c still stone cold. found a fan heater in wardrobe which we had to put on then had to switch it off has there was orange sparks coming from it. Bare in my I had my 6 year old autistic son with me. The bar staff are extremely rude, when asked for what room we were staying in had to sign the receipt we had the pen thrown at us, then they are too busy talking amongst each other behind the bar. My son had lost his teddy, baring in mind he’s autistic that teddy means more to him than anything else, my partner had gone back to the bar are to find it to no avail, he asked the night porter would he mind checking cctv, was told that it’s not important to him so no he won’t. This resulted in my partner having words with him. Eventually we found the teddy it had been kicked into a corner behind a door. 1 hour later we have a knock at the room door from the police, saying my partner had to leave. To which he did.Skip to 1am me and my son in bed trying to sleep knock at door from the night porter saying had reports of noise coming from the room, when I said we in bed trying to sleep but yes I’ve heard doors clattering but not from here he sharp changed his story to it’s from this area of corridor.
Think the staff need training in customer services this is meant to be a boutique hotel, I’ve had better service from a cheap nasty b&b in Blackpool and that’s saying something !! and the food was appalling that my son got. Would I go again CERTAINLY NOT !!

We stayed in the hideaway which was amazing! Loved the decor room was spotless and bed was super comfy and really warm too despite the cold weather , Prego restaurant was also really nice food was 10/10 and very friendly staff , we then went over to the bar area which was also lovely
I liked everything , however the pool wasn’t working when we were there which was a shame! However staff made it up to us by giving us a voucher to go back for the spa which made up for it☺️

As always, the welcome from reception sets tue standard for your stay and Derwent do it well. Friendly, warm and most of all helpful. There isn't a bad room in the hotel, we've stayed in quite a few!
There's nothing about this hotel that we don't like, top marks always.

The location
The spa needed updating and we had to wait nearly half an hour for our afternoon tea which from the conversation we overheard they had not catered for our booking we made

The hotel generally was gorgeous. The staff were amazing. The room at a first glance was stunning we stayed in the Den.
Our room smelt like smelly drains constantly, the water in the bathroom had an odd orange tinge which cleared if you left the tap on long enough, the tiles around the shower were a bit grubby and could do with replacing, we stayed from Saturday to Tuesday and when we had housekeeping they didn’t change the sheets, leave fresh towels (we had to ask a member of staff who dropped them later that day) or replenish the bottled water which given the cost of our stay was really disappointing. The gym and “spa” area really needs an upgrade for the prices being charged.

Perfect location, modern, warm feel, great staff, plenty of food options, great breakfast
Fire alarm and evacuation at 6am for 1.5hrs ok yes that’s a good thing and no one hurt etc but did disrupt our sleep and wasn’t the relaxing stress free overnight stay but no discount or refunds offered and pretty much played down when we checked out.

Immaculate rooms of a very good size and interior design, perfect winter getaway. Perfect food resteraunt with delicious food and perfect service from staff.
‘Leisure facilities’ although not advertised as a spa, it just feels like a lot more could be done with the building. With a refurb I feel like it could be one of the best locations in the north east and be incredibly popular. Also let down when trying to relax in the jacuzzi/hot tub and the children were doing cannon bombs and making it not so relaxing. Yes I understand they’re kids but also feel like making this more of a modern, relaxing and private property the hotel would flourish even more.

I liked the fact they acknowleged our wedding anniversary and put a card on our table. The fact they allowed dogs and felt really comfortable with her in the restaurant too. My salmon fishcakes were lovely and the breakfast. Some of the staff (alfie especially went above n beyond) the fixtures and fittings were quality in all the seating areas reception dining etc.
There should be a fridge in the room for 200 pound per night. The room was ok the tv was a little lop sided and old as took a while to turn chanel and volume. There was a long wait for drinks at the antel bar as there was a private function. My husbands food sat for half an hour while he waited at the bar to be served then his garlic bread soaked in oil but also smelt weird. The room could of been abit more luxury for the price. The spa facilities werent great not private at all. And pool was tiny. We didnt use it.
