Cosy Cotswolds hotel

Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating. Location was excellent in the heart of the town. Food was very good and reasonably priced.

We were unaware that the car park was not accessible on arrival due to the Christmas market in the street. A note in the booking would have been helpful and saved us some stress.

It was in a great location, ample parking spaces. The breakfast was good, staff all friendly and place was clean.

The rooms were boiling, it was minus 5 outside and we had the window open we were so hot. You can hear everything thats happening in the rooms around you and corridor.

Nice hotel but appeared to be understaffed.

Room and food were excellent. Staff helpful and friendly.

The staff seemed to be very busy multi tasking. The same waitress served our breakfast and evening meal. The reception desk was unmanned and there was a note redirecting us to the bar instead.

Breakfast was good - nice variety of choices. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was warm.

The bar was not able to provide mixed drinks which was a disappointment. The back doors to access the building were locked in the morning for breakfast. One had to walk around to the front street entrance. We had to keep the bathroom door closed or the bedroom would be too warm.

I can imagine it being very hard to run a hotel due to overhead costs, so redecorating has to be done on a budget, due to this the hotel did look a bit tiered. Other than that I’d recommend the hotel.

No dogs please. Dogs being present around food, yapping at 8am has influenced that In would consider alternative accommodation visiting the Cotswolds.

Central to the village and easy to park, everything on the doorstep. Walks straight from the door in each direction Good breakfast, dining room was pleasant. Staff at breakfast were very kind.

The bar was an anonymous place, not particularly clean with lots of large tables. We did not feel welcomed by the bar and reception staff at all. As a result we ate out in the town during the evening. The carpets upstairs were not that clean and the walls of the corridors upstairs were really stark and in a a very poor state requiring repair. A wall radiator was stood on the floor leaning against a wall. Our room was very cold with no heating on. It was clean but not what was expected for the £160.

Manager very rude with very poor customer care. When I booked I was informed twice we could have the room from 12 as we were going to a wedding. ( usual check in 3 )We wanted to drop off our bags and collect a key to get in when we returned late in the evening from the wedding . The Manger would not allow us to do so and we had difficulty booking in at 11:15 at night.

Good for a one night stay

This was booked for a one night stay and was booked for it's beautiful location so that we were able to walk to everything, have dinner in the pub and breakfast in the morning.

The room was quite noisy and there was a flashing light on the smoked alarm that was right above our bed so it was annoying at night. There was an additional service charge on the room of £23, so the price booking.com charged was different to what the hotel actually charged me.

Not very clean, barely any staff around, water temperatures do not work, even when you think you get the temperature where you want it, it has a mind of its own, burns you 1 second then freezing cold the next There was a water outage for over 12 hours and there was not much productivity from the hotel to assist. Unable to use the bathroom or shower and still had to check out without extension

I liked the reception area, welcoming clean and cool temperature as it was an extremely warm day. the cafe area was very pleasant as was the dining area. room was ok as we had a classic room , clean and comfortable.

really hot day and our room was extremely hot. windows only opened at the top and didn't give much air into room. I appreciate the building is old and the windows are in keeping.

Great location, charming traditional building, very central, parking great and easy, choice of drinks great and reasonably priced.

Fans needed in rooms as rather hot, quirky rooms have uneven floors which is fine but sleeping would be more comfortable if the beds were levelled . We did pay at booking to upgrade the room but that did not happen which was a shame. All in all if you are given the room you have paid for then a great little hotel
