Fine,warm welcome from staff, comfortable bedroom, good breakfast and free parking.

The breakfast was good except there wasn’t any gluten free bread. The location was fine but the way in and out of the car park was quite tricky to negotiate.

There was an unpleasant, damp smell in different areas of the building, althounot in the bedroom. Some areas were in need of freshing up/a lick of paint.

Exceptional the staff went above and beyond to accommodate myself, i had a very late check in after mid night and they had a member of staff wait on to check me in , i was late for breakfast one morning and they had all cleared away the breakast restaurant but still insisted i had breakfast and opened up again for me , same in the restaurant i was late back and they held on the chef and he cooked a meal and when i requested late check out that again was no problem , The hotel staff couldnt do enough to make my stay as easy and as comfortable as possible , i would totally reccommend this place.

Perfect place to stay

Perfect! Very friendly and attentive service in both the hotel and the pub. Great spacious room, nicely decorated and comfortable, great bed and great shower. Great breakfast. Pet friendly in both the hotel room and pub. Enough car park spaces. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. I highly recommend the Crown Hotel. Also, Blockley is such a lovely village with charming buildings, a lovely church and shop/cafe, also other great places to eat and a field/square nearby the church great for exercising the dog.

What an accommodating staff, we got the room with the pool table attached & it was all very clean - food was great, late check in & yet last minute they accommodated us beautifully. Reopened the kitchen too! Grateful.

Very enjoyable- the Team of staff are so friendly, professional and helpful.

Easy to locate and in a beautiful village.Good parking. Amazing staff. Good food & a good selection of drinks served in the bar.

Only downside was noise transmission. We stayed in room 3 which is external to the hotel. Some sound heard throughout the night but didn’t spoil our stay.

Hidden gem in the Cotswolds

Staff were extremely helpful and was well run. The location was ideal to explore the Cotswolds in a quiet village. The family room was large. Food was highly recommended and great value for money for the area.

Just need to be very careful driving through the archway to get to the car park

Expensive for a disappointing experience

The hotel has lots of character and is in a lovely location, in a typical Cotswold village. It was relatively easy to find and not far off the main road, which would be a great base from which to explore this part of the country. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

However, it lacks the quality finish of most places we have stayed in the Cotswolds - dated decoration, basic bathroom and cheap, tired looking furniture (except for the four poster bed which was comfortable). Everything else was basic, cheap and disappointing - tiny thin bath towels (like you get in cheap hotels on the continent), poor quality ingredients, straight from a cash & carry and elevator music, for breakfast. Lacks a traditional English country feel many will anticipate in the Cotswolds.

Good value traditional and cosy hotel with a very warm welcome 😊

A very quaint property with lots of character. The staff are wonderful, very respectful and so very welcoming. They were always about if you needed anything, without a doubt the only hotel staff I have ever encountered that were always happy and smiling. We had a problem with the television connection, I went to the reception and they immediately came and sorted it within minutes. The breakfast was great, full English served to the table and continental buffet you helped yourself to. Food was served quickly and always piping hot, we loved the cheesy chips. We were in a twin room which was spacious and comfortable with an ample supply of tea/ coffee/ milk etc which was refilled the next day. There were 2 radiators in the room so we were lovely and cosy but you could turn them down which we did have to a couple of times. Overall a lovely base for our weekend, close to Broadway, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water. Would I stay again, definitely. Thank you ☺️

The entrance to the car park is a bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle but don’t let this put you off, I managed it without taking any paint off!!

Dinner menu is fairly limited, with only one vegetarian option. “Breakfast fruit” was only apples and oranges - nothing more exotic or pre-prepared.

Top floor attic room with two floors (one for bedroom, other for living/TV room), quirky but spacious.

The room was extremely clean and very large. My wife is severely sight impaired so the space was really good.

There was nothing we did not like. With my Wife's disability we found it a bit hard using stairs but that was all.

In the heart of village

Very friendly & polite staff. Decent quality breakfast, & well cooked, not oily like in some places! Loved the little croissants and pastries. Room was perfect size, quiet and clean. Bed comfy. Hotel in heart of village.

Room was a little overheated. Entrance to car park is a bit tricky, especially with people parking opposite the archway, so I didn't use it. Neighbour's bathroom a little noisy so was woken at 4am... couldn't get wifi or phone net to work in room.

It is charming and the location - on a hillside, down narrow streets, with lovely views across the valley (take a morning walk down to the church) - was really a highlight if our visit.

Delightful stay

had a lovely stay at the Crown Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt like a true hidden gem in the Cotswolds. Breakfast was delicious, and the value for money during peak season was excellent compared with other local options.

The only minor drawback was the apartment fridge, which felt a little outdated and could do with an upgrade.

Delightful and interesting.

Full of character- great location. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. For what we paid we cannot fault this place - it was great value. We had evening meal and breakfast and enjoyed both. Would stay here again

If I have to pick anything and it feels unfair to hold it against the property in any way at all is the access to the car park and the drive up to the 2 levels is tight. But it’s an old coaching inn so it is what it is and all part of the nature of this full of character olde world rambling but interesting building. I’m just glad no one was coming the other way when I was driving in and out!

Nice place for a stopover

Nice location, quaint typical middle England oldy worldy hotel. Nice staff and welcome and decent breakfast and tasty evening meal in the pub. Ample secure off street parking, but a tight squeeze through the arch (but I got a VW Transporter in without too much hassle).

Missed opportunity to help my wife with her luggage as we were shown to the room. Quite tired in places.
