Location is so great.
Room is spacious enough.
The hotel is being renovated right now, the entire building is covered by scaffolding, which isn’t that attractive.

Location was spot on really close to station
We asked for an earlier check-in time, but they, to be honest, didn't bother. Our room was for a disabled person or a couple, so not happy there.

Staff weren’t over friendly, bar drinks were over priced and room was very basic for the cost. One loop on curtain rail wAs broken and loose in our room.

Location, newly renovated rooms were lovely
Heating in the new rooms didn't work, so we were so cold. Guest service brought a plug in heater but it was only about adequate.

Helpful staff
At 08.30 on Sunday morning the floor above us turned into a construction site. I understand that refurbishment needs to be done but you would hope that at the weekend there would be more sympathy to the day of the week

The bed and the quality of the bed linen was excellent. The room was dark. There was no bath and there were steps from the lift to the bedroom. There was no sense of luxury. It was a premier lodge at best
There were steps from the lift to the bedroom and the room was dark. Way over priced,

The room was comfortable, well maintained and clean
Access by car was difficult, even for drop off. I would have expected portering at a hotel of this standard. Bar and restaurant were starkly lit, not particularly well laid out but these may have been temporary due to building work? Breakfast was awful especially at the price. Cold plates for hot breakfasts, eggs benedict had been under lights for a long time and were dried up and luke warm. Coffee was tasteless even though we asked several times for a stronger pot. On our second day we went out for breakfast even though we had paid for it in advance. There was one lift in use to go to the restaurant which was also being used by staff.
9.0 / 10.0
Spacious, very clean excellent room, hotel location ideal.
The only item that wasn't 100% were the eggs at breakfast. The poached eggs on the benedict were cold and the fryed eggs were rubbery, such a shame because on the whole the breakfast was great and the staff were attentive.
The view wasn't great due to the scaffolding that is up at present, possibly a little harsh to deduct marks for this but it would have been nice to know of the building works prior to the stay.

The bathroom was clean , there were plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is very central .
We paid £479 and this did not include breakfast. We were out most of the day and night , coming to the room around 9.30 or thereabouts. On entering the room we immediately noticed the chair had a very visible stain that was off putting and we asked for it to be removed. The mugs for tea and coffee weren’t very clean either . While the beds were comfortable they were small double beds. Overall the room fell short of our expectations.
6.0 / 10.0
The executive room had no extra benefits or facilities other than a bigger space and a couch. Location. Breakfast.
Only one luggage rack for 2 people. No iron. No treats. No shower cap provided. Nothing beyond a basic room. No benefit to having this room.

Breakfast was only pay for a huge buffet or nothing.
Renovations going on left a very weird smell in corridors.
Room was so far from reception

Location is great
Size of the room is good
Staff try to be nice
Food for room service was good but limited
We weren’t inform of a construction going on. Even though the noise was not a problem there was a lot of dust entering the reception and on the shoes impregnating the rugs taking it all over. Staff was a little lost in giving instructions in the stay.
There was not toiletries like shower cap, cotton swabs.
Two very small trash cans
8.0 / 10.0
Great location and for Edinburgh it was reasonably priced. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were really helpful.
There wasn’t much to like, the bar wasn’t as we expected and there was a strong smell of fish coming from the dining room which was a bit annoying.

7.0 / 10.0
Location is right in the middle of everything. Everything was within a walking distance. Good selection in breakfast
We had a 4 person room. There were two double beds which are narrow and we would have liked to have wider beds (2 x queen or king)

Absolutely no toiletries were provided. Check out was 11 am, no compromise. Room was so small and tv was in such an awkward location, you’ll get a neck ache trying to watch anything.

Staff were generally helpful
It’s been the most horrifying hotel to stay in for that price!
I came with a toddler who has difficulty walking on his own. I chose the hotel based on proximity to the train station but little did I know that with all the construction going on, it was impossible to access the hotel even when I could see it on e market street. Granted after getting lost for awhile carrying a sleeping toddler in my arms with luggage to lug, the hotel staff did come and get me through an unofficial door leading to the street. I had to ask the doorman of the Scotsman hotel to direct me to Hilton.
Hotel is completely DIFFICULT TO ACCESS, even taking the cab back the uber driver dropped me in the next street and another uber driver cancelled on me to pick me up because of the hotel location.
The air within the hotel is musty with very low ceilings. Lifts are limited (only 2 with only 1 to access the lounge/ breakfast area) so there is always a queue to wait for the lift and it is so small that only 4-5 people can barely get in the lift if there are no luggages. We just walked the stairs daily to breakfast as a result.
Walls are porous in the hotel. I had to put up with giggling gossiping girls (next door to me) throughout the night and in the early morning because of an interconnecting door which was completely unwarranted. I stayed in an executive king room. I had to endure this for all 3 nights and so did my toddler who ended up sleeping late and being dysregulated. I had very poor sleep as a result.
Access to the hotel room was like a maze. Having to managed stairs going up and down on the same floor. For me it was fine, but elderly people or people with motor issues should avoid.
I have made 6 bookings over the last 2 months and travel very often. This is the most disappointing hotel I’ve stayed in. I wouldn’t choose Hilton ever again.
There is NO SECURITY in the hotel as anyone can get to the room floors as the lifts do not require cards to access the specific floors.

The location, it was excellent.
Having only one way in/out, through the main entrance only, was a bit inconvenient as our room was as far from the main entrance as it could be.
8.0 / 10.0
The location was great, a 5-minute walk to the Royal Mile! Many local restaurants around. The room is comfortable and clean.
The soundproofing is a bit poor. I can hear people laughing and kids running at 5 AM.
