The bedroom was spotlessly clean, the cleaners very kindly put petals on the bed for us as it was a celebration, which was a lovely touch. The location was perfect for what we needed and there is ample parking.
The hotel is in need of some TLC in high traffic areas, as the carpets were very worn and walls scuffed. The bones of the original building is absolutely beautiful but it is let down by the lack of care.
We arrived at 6pm and asked if they were serving food and we were told food was served between 7.30-9.30pm, yet when we got to our room the info sheet said 6.30pm.
The breakfast that we paid £12 each for was poor, the hot "English breakfast" was good, however everything else was sparse with mostly empty bowls, they didn't even have normal tea bags out which to me is essential and basic!

The room was clean comfortable and staff were friendly
Check in took a little while but that’s just because a few people arrived together, there isn’t anything really to complain about

The hotel is a beautiful building and a good location. The staff are friendly and responsive.
The hotel unfortunately is very tired. It needs an upgrade. More needs to be done to raise the standard of the cleaning for the whole building.
