    Booked in advance Seaview room high floor. On arrival booked in and was given room first floor on entering our seaview room we saw 2 windows full of scaffolding on a flat roof full of pidgeons. No Seaview (Paid extra for Seaview). Returned to reception and joined the long queue again - waited in reception for a further 1 and half hours listening to complaint after complaint. Eventually managed to catch the receptionists attention to ask if our room was ready- she disappeared in the back and returned with two key cards to a room on the top floor. On entering the roof had low beams and couldn’t walk without banging heads (my husband is over 6ft 3. The room had not been clean throughout.Returned to reception and yet even longer queue sat listening to people complaining at the reception. Needless to say to say we were not going to wait hours longer we checked out. Scandalous.

    I have been staying at the Imperial for over a decade and have spent thousands at this hotel but I must say standards at this hotel have really slipped and the customer service is just not good. I booked a sea view double which both the confirmation and receipt both outlined as a "sea view" booking. The receptionist argued with me for over half an hour that I had just booked a standard room which I clearly hadn't. He went on to tell me that there were absolutely NO sea view rooms left at the hotel. After half an hour he spoke to a colleague and then said they would upgrade me. I was given the room I had actually booked which was a sea view on the top floor which the pictures on the booking confirmation clearly indicated! Therefore he clearly LIED about not having any sea view rooms. All in all he made check in highly stressful for me. I would NEVER return to the Imperial and they have lost my custom for good. It's a shame because the staff working here previously were intelligent and incredibly helpful. I will also mark their emails to me as Spam. This used to be one of the best in Blackpool sadly no longer.
