Air in Berlin

We liked that our room was large enough for all of us (4 adults) and that we were comfortable in it. They really accomodated us in that we had asked for a quiet room area if possible and we had no loud guests near us at all. The property was easy to find and had a GREAT location near many shops, restaurants, and the fabulous Berlin Zoo!! We thought the property was quirky (in the best way!) and had a real feel of history and charm. The room itself got a little warm (we were there in June which is normally a warm time for sure), but the wonderful windows made it easy to get air circulating enough to be comfortable most of the time. As an American that is very used to air conditioning, I can say I wasn't miserable by any means - just warm initially when trying to go to sleep. I'm pretty sure we found fans in the wardrobe the next day so it was silly that we didn't look there sooner!!! Also - it was great to have good, reliable wi-fi!! My eSim card was malfunctioning and the only way I got customer service through that company was because I had wifi at this hotel - yay! My only concern/caveat would be that I would warn travelers that stay here that the shower is VERY slippery and while no one fell, we had a few akward almost-falls getting in and out of it as there's *quite* a step to get up/into it and down/out of it! Overall, the location is fantastic and felt very safe; we walked around at night and didn't feel like we shouldn't. Berlin is HUGE and this hotel was a great find that we would absolutely stay at again. Thank you very much!!

Only that it was a little warm (*to people who are not used to not having a/c) but it was not terrible in that the windows did offer really good air circulation. The shower was - interesting - to get in and out of BUT maybe this is more of a cultural observation as we're only used to showers in the States (?) Neiter of these observations are harsh critiques of the hotel as again, we're just used to things a little different where we're from.

The person on reception in the evening was exceptionally helpful and pleasant

Pros: Fantastic location, 5 minutes walk to the zoo, well connected by public transport.Very friendly and helpful staff, large room. Breakfast simple but fresh and tasty. Private parking (additional fee)

Room decor depressing: walls a dark brown - orange in serious need of freshening, carpets dusty with multiple dead moths, the shower needed cleaning before use, the toilet seat was broken upon arrival and not fixed during our 2 night stay. No air conditioning (though we happened to be there during a heatwave, usually probably not a problem). A winding route to the room involving a lift, stairs and long corridors.
