Unpleasant, especially after a 15 hour flight

Proximity to station

I arrived in the evening, temperatures were around zero degrees. When I entered the room it was extremely cold in the room as the window was completely open. The toilet seat was dirty, stains of what to me looked like period stains. Disgusting. Also, quite dusty, especially the power outlets. I went to the reception to complain, the feedback: ok, we inform the relevant cleaning staff. That's it. Next day upon checkup I complained again and was offered their apologies and a cup of coffee.

Handy for train and great breakfast

Very handy for the train station, comfy beds, and breakfast was excellent.

The stairs at the front were a bit annoying with luggage, some mix up with breakfast times with the changes in owners, but they still started it early on the day. The room smelt like they just washed the carpets, it was a bit overpowering.

Misrepresented, facilities paid for but not now included.

Location to the Frankfurt hauptbahnhof.

This hotel was totally misrepresented on booking.com. We booked a room with a minibar, ie a fridge and tea making facilities. However it has been taken over by another company and these facilities are no longer provided. The whole hotel is under renovation with only 20 rooms available and construction noise from 7 am through till late afternoon. Hoarding all around the street frontage blocked the makeshift side entrance. The rooms have been painted a dark olive colour but the lighting has not been upgraded. Only lit by lamps, no overhead lighting. Had to take things into the bathroom to read. Although the carpet was purported to be new it was filthy.

Worst hotel experience ever

How could the hotel industry in Germany allow a hotel under renovation go into operation? Why there’s nothing mentioned on Booking.com so the guests are at least informed? The room, the corridors and the elevators smell heavily after new decoration, so I strongly suspect whether the hotel environment is qualified to stay in, the HCHO and PhMe in the air must be exceeding standards!

The hotel is a very good place to stay for an overnight if you need access to train or airport.

Hotel was fine . What I did not like is not fixable by hotel. The area around the train station in Frankfurt is horrible. Garbage, excrement, drug dealers and users all over the place and not safe to walk around alone. I thought Germany was a pretty clean country but after seeing this, it is about the worst neighborhood I have ever been in.

Avoid Completely

I recently stayed at Metropolitan by Flemings, Frankfurt (Room No. 432) from 30th October to 2nd November, and I must express that the overall experience was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the standards one would expect from your brand and not certainly from German hospitality. I am attaching some pictures of the room that were also shown to the reception during my stay. The air conditioning in the room was not functioning properly, and although some action was eventually taken, it did not resolve the issue fully and we had to keep our window open for ventilation. Housekeeping was a complete mess and even after multiple requests, room wasn't cleaned and trash was left uncleared for all three nights. To make matters worse, the reception staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. Each time we approached the desk, a different person was on duty, none of whom seemed aware of the previous complaints. On one occasion, I was told that housekeeping services were outsourced and that the issue lay with the external agency which, as a guest is neither acceptable nor reassuring. This reflects a serious lapse in coordination and accountability within the hotel. The whole experience was bad and far below the standards expected from a property carrying the Flemings name. I am deeply disappointed and would like to state that I will never choose to stay at any property under the Flemings Group again. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and that Booking.com and other travel platforms take note of this review, so that travelers are aware of the current service standards before making their bookings.

Diabolical - Paid upfront in advance - no room available - they were overbooked

I liked the fact I was transferred to another hotel

On booking and paying to stay at this accommodation in advance, on arrival both myself and a colleague who had booked separately were informed the hotel was overbooked and they did not have rooms for us. They offered alternative accommodation a 25 minute taxi ride away which costs us alot in taxi's to and from our work destination each day. It wasn't just us that had been overbooked, many visitors turned up to the hotel we had been transferred having been bumped too. I received no notifications from the hotel or booking, totally unacceptable

Telephones in the rooms out of service, there was no alert or announcement from the personnel or management. Room very cold on arrival, heating does not work, even when AC switched off! Office table lamp out of order. Hotel entrance only by steps, no runway for suitcases and trolleys: Very inconvenient for international travelers.

Great overnight stay in Frankfurt

The hotel was clean, roomy, good facilities, comfortable beds, well appointed, very close to the train station and a walkable distance to the Old Town.

Location, comfort, staff!

Fantastic hotel. Everything was great from comfortable room (really nice bathroom with tub) and beds to really nice breakfast. The staff were super nice and helpful. Location is just outside Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, Poststrasse exit. Can't complain with location at all. Many complain about the dodgy people hanging around but that is to be expected around the train station here, has been like that for years. Just ignore and be vigilant. It improves about 200m down Kaiserstrasse (street directly in front of the main entrance to the Hbf). Plenty of police presence. Only about a 15-20 minute walk from Altstadt or can take S-bahn. As for the hotel: very nice, comfortable, and location. I will definitely consider it again in the future.

Great location next to Frankfurt main station

The location is great right next to the main station in Frankfurt. Great value for money. Nice lounge/bar area - good security. Helpful and friendly staff. spacious room.

The restaurant had a private function on the night of my stay so I could not use it - but all in all not a great issue for me as options at the station.

Mediocre

The bathroom had a shower and a separate bathtub. The size of the room was decent but the mini fridge was quite loud. It was close to the main station but that had drawbacks such as noise and the constant smell of cigarettes from people on the street when the window was opened.

The bathroom floor was not properly cleaned prior to my arrival as there was a disgusting blob which had hair stuck to it near the center. The shower door had a faulty gasket which resulted in water on the floor after every shower. The room had a wired ethernet port but it was non-functional. The manager made a phone call to see if the port could be reactivated but the answer was no. Then another guy at the front desk claimed that there should be no issue with using unsecured Wi-Fi because "a lot of people have used it and nothing has happened." Aside from that horrible suggestion there is no reason why a hotel cannot provide secure Wi-Fi in addition to their captive web portal. If a Waschsalon can do it so can a hotel.

Staff was very helpful. Room was awesome. Didn't have a chance to use sauna but its a nice amenity. Across street from Frankfurt hbf but quiet and restful. Street cars and subway right around the corner. Great location, especially if using public transportation. Would definitely stay again.

Extremely comfortable room. Quiet. The windows truly block sounds from the street. Location, just across the street from the central station, is perfect.

I was expecting better breakfast, especially the selection of hot dishes. There were few options. Some sausages would have been nice. There was a menu on the table suggesting fried or boiled eggs could be ordered, but none of the staff asked if they could take the order. In addition, if omelettes or poached eggs were available that would be appreciated.
