Overall stay experience

The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied, fresh and tasty, with convenient serving hours from 6:30 to 10:00, which suited us perfectly. The room was spacious enough for the three of us. A big plus is the parking — it’s included in the price and located right in front of the hotel (although the passage to the back parking area is extremely narrow). Still, it’s great to have free parking available behind the hotel. The location is also excellent — right in the city center, with good tram connections (even though at the moment, some of the area was under construction).

However, the cleanliness was a huge disappointment. The carpets, especially in the corridor outside the elevator, were extremely dirty and had a strong, unpleasant smell. The elevator buttons looked like they might fall off any moment. When housekeeping opened the room doors one morning, the amount of dust in the air made it hard to breathe — you could literally see the dust particles everywhere, even on doors and corners. The bathroom was also dirty, with visible dark stains on the walls and doors. The carpet in the room had burn marks (probably from cigarettes) and was overall filthy. The whole room smelled strongly of old tobacco smoke, and even though we aired it out every day, the smell just wouldn’t go away. The curtains also smelled bad. If they would just improve the cleanliness — even with the older furniture — this hotel could really be a much better experience.

Nice hotel, comfortable, perfect for a stay in Geneve

Excellent location. With 20-25 minutes you are in Geneve. Tram stop literally in front of the hotel.

At night it was not a place you want to walk around.. not well lit and very town very dirty. Once in the hotel one feels safer.

Hotel to sleep, saving a little if your trip is to Geneva.

Since I was using public transport, this hotel is located across from the Croix-d'Ambilly tram stop on tram line 17. The trip to central Geneva takes about 25 minutes and costs €4.80. (Hotels in Geneva are very expensive, and this plan worked well for me.) There is free water supply next to the reception counter.

It's a basic hotel, you need the infrastructure around it (for example, a bakery, a market).

The place had easy access to Geneva and the no. 17 tram is just outside the hotel that gets you in the heart of Geneva within 25 minutes. The breakfast was superb and well balanced

The hotel is abit far from the hotel. It took close to an hour and half during peak hours.

Hotel at a very convenient location for visiting Geneva

Size of the standard double room is good so it feels less suffocating and you have more space to move around comfortably and having a spacious hotel room gives a very good feeling. The location of this Ibis hotel in Annemasse is really a strong positive and its biggest plus as there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel where a tram quickly takes you right to the center of Geneva so travelling to and from Geneva via this no. 17 tram is super convenient.

The standard double room although good in size lacks a small fridge and a comfortable sofa and a better chair. A waste bin for the room is needed too. The Buffet breakfast although nice enough but still it can be enriched by adding some more basic variety of food like a bread with slices ( that I just saw for one day during my 3 night stay) to quote one example.

The bathroom was really neat and clean. The room was very spacious. The location was amazing! The tram station is just outside the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay! :D

Don’t stay here!!

this is in a very poor area and not safe for lone female travellers! The corridors smelt of piss and the 24hr service they say they offer isn’t available! The evening entertainment was good when a drunk bloke fell asleep and stacked it off his chair and hit the deck! Basil Faulty on the first aid dragging him up by his arms 😂Ambulance called and then he ran off and the paramedics chased him down the street! Seriously, avoid this place!!!

Excellent staff, tram to Geneva on doorstep

Breakfast was lovely. The staff were excellent. I only speak English and there is little to no information available in the local area in English, and they helpfully answered my questions. During my 5 night stay, there was an unfortunate incident involving a member of the public coming into the hotel and a Police response being required, and the hotel staff handled it brilliantly.

Front desk staff to check you in

Noisy street, no air conditioning even though Booking.com advertises it as having air conditioning. Front desk staff said that because it was cold outside, 65 degrees Fahrenheit, they had the air con set to heat and there was nothing they could do so I had to sleep with a window open with all the street noise and light coming into my room. Did not rest even a bit. Also one of the most uncomfortable pillows I have ever used in my life. finally, overpriced breakfast, 11 euros for pastries, cold cuts and coffee that should at least be included in the price of the room. Also the Uber fare from Geneve airport is around 55-75 CHF.
