Overall, a good place to stay for a few nights in Seminyak

Pool area was nice and the bathroom was massive. Room was comfortable enough and breakfast was yum. Location was pretty good too.

You can hear others around you, especially in the bathroom because it's outdoors, but also you can hear outside of the room. It wasn't a huge deal and people were respectful but thought it does need to be mentioned.

This is our go to place in bali,the staff are great ,helpful ,friendly and informative The facility is very clean with large rooms ,wifi is excellent with new air conds The location is good ,central to main street with resturants all within walking distance This is only a small hotel with about 30 rooms Pool is great ,always well maintained and clean We have stayed at this hotel for the past 20 years we have tried others but always seem to come back to Mutiara

Lovely villa and hotel good value for money

We had a 2 bed villa with kitchenette and comfortable outside seating. The bedrooms, bathrooms and outside space were spacious and very comfortable and we loved having baths as well as showers. We also loved our own pool as well as the latge communcal pool for a proper swim.. Staff were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. They were always smiling and happy to help . Service was excellent. we thought the water cooler/water heater was an excellent idea saving on bottled water. Food and drink including the breakfast which was included in our package were good and reasonably priced.The hotel was well maintained and very clean.

We had a lovely stay the only thing we would comment is that the hotel is in need of updating and refurbishment as some of the fixtures and fittings such as the kitchenette need replacing as they are looking tired and old although everything worked perfectly. The spa was disappointing the girl who massaged my husband head was very rough and pulled his hair. We were also left with a face mask on for over 25 minutes of what was supposed to be a 45 minute facial whilst the girls chatted and giggled outside the room. Massages were not overly expensive but we had better experiences outside the hotel.

A disappointing villa despite the staff has done a great job to help and serve clients.

Staff is friendly and helpful. The environment is quiet.

Location wise, if you come from the south, you need to make a big round to get to the villa. I prefer walking for 5min from the main street instead of going round in the car for 15 min or even more due to the traffic. If we carry a lot of stuff or tired, the journey is no good. We stayed for 3 nights and we encountered 3 large cockroaches which are really hard to accept. We dare not use the stuff from the kitchen. The shower head, sink are rusted making the shower/ bathing experience unpleasant. I dont want to touch the rusted old switches. The pool looks old too with pebble stone tiles. The feel is not good and we instantly loss of mood to have floating breakfast there. The public pool is ok instead. Last but not least, the breakfast quality is bad. Taste is no good. Even the crackers are soft and not crispy. Only the mie goreng and chicken porridge are ok. The juices are basically mixed with lots of water making the taste unpleasant. The massage time is only 9-5. Maybe the villa target customer relaxing solely in the villa without going out. It doesn’t bother much but if the service can last till night will be good .

January 2026 - Disappointing

Pool area, room service

Booked room via Booking.com Mutaria responded could not guarantee double bed asked them to honour or I change my reservation which they did. At check-in requested room was again not available so they 'upgraded' me for which I was grateful and thanked them. On arrival to 'upgraded' room it was infested with mosquitoes, not a few but dozens in bedroom & bathroom areas (apparent acces through worn & damaged protective insect screen above shower area) Return to reception request another room which they respond 'you may have same issue'. Inspect room all okay. Initial booking was for 5-6 nights and then planning to go to Vietnam. Unfortunately I sustained a serious foot injury (not on their property) and was immobilised and not well. Requested extension where I paid Mutaria directly but it was 30-35% more expensive per night compared with previous booking. When I queried was advised rate was only for the initial booking and would have to pay the increased rate to which I had no choice. Not that I expected any assistance from the hotel due to my current situation but they did not offer any either. On one occasion I was questioned by reception as to why there was a stain on bedsheet by sending photos to my WhatsApp which I felt was unnecessary and demeaning after having already explained to cleaning staff why I stripped the bed after being ill overnight, it was embarrassing enough as it was. I slipped twice and fell over on hotel premises due to wet tiled floors whilst using crutches again no offer of help from hotel staff having to rely on other guests to help me up. First morning there I attended hotel restaurant ordering the American breakfast which would not have fed a six year old serving up a piece of bacon size of a fifty cent piece.

Perfect location, big clean comfy rooms, great pool- we will be back.

This was a last minute booking over Christmas as our villa we booked nearby was not liveable. We booked 3 separate rooms at MUTIARA couple with 2 teenage boys. The rooms were nice a big, super clean, quiet location comfy beds nice bed linen. We all had balconies over looking the pool, fantastic pool - v relaxing. Boys loved the modern on site gym, we loved the morning flat white coffee delivery to our room ❤️ We wouldn’t think twice about staying here again. 2 minute walk to main Seminyak street.

The Superior rooms in the hotel were very big and the balcony huge. The location was very close to the shops. Staff were lovely and service good. The pool was lovely and the highlight of the hotel. Breakfast was average. Massage and facial was good.

The hotel needs to be a little updated and surroundings more inviting. The whole hotel area including pool area had a gloomy atmosphere. They should have a bar next to pool and a bit of music as well. The mood and character of the place lacked any pleasant vibe. Very dull. They should have a buffet breakfast instead. The pizza that I ate was terrible! Food was not that good. Afternoon tea they would not let you have a coffee instead of tea. The hotel has great potential if they changed a few things to make it more of a pleasant atmosphere. Bit dangerous as well whilst walking to shops as the cars and motorbikes down the street could easily hit you if you were not careful especially at night as it was very dark. We also went to Uluwatu for the day and the hotel recommended a driver called Maddie. He was ok taking us to the Temple etc for a set amount of hours that we had agreed to pay. But instead on the way back to the hotel he was driving around all these roads on purpose to take longer to make more money! Instead of taking 1 hour to get back he took 2 and a half hours! By this time we were so angry and exhausted we confronted him and we did not pay anymore. After this incident we went to another hotel for our last 2 days in Bali and had a fabulous time.

Great location - close to shopping mall and flea market. Room was really quiet - particularly given the location in a busy city. Room was spacious with nice balcony. Water was hot, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym is surprisingly well equipped and is quite private.

Noisy outside in the pool but that can’t be helped given the location. We had a room with a ‘pool view’ but only if you stood outside on the balcony as it was around the corner.

Great location, near Jl Kaya Aya and Seminyak Village. The rooms are exactly as pictured. A good spot to land overnight to get last minute shopping done.

We stayed as a group and one of the ground floor rooms had a bad smell from the bathroom. The staff did their best with aromatherapy though which we appreciated.

Better than a home away from home.

The staff were so exceptionally helpful and friendly that we were sorry to say goodbye. There was a good range of choices for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. The resort was kept immaculately clean and nothing was a problem. The pool and spa were perfect, surrounded by old frangipanis that scattered their blossoms in the pool. There was an abundance of pool furniture and a gym for the occasional workout. We stayed for 10 days and had a massage, booked drivers, met other happy guests who stay here regularly. It was conveniently located only 5 minutes walk from eat street, the village and square.

I would have liked a foldaway suitcase stand so that my suitcases aren't always on the floor. I wish there was a ceiling fan in the outdoor space by the pool. Or even a ceiling fan in the room so I don't always have to use the air conditioner. If I was staying longer, I would like more drawers in the bedroom to unpack my clothes.

A really enjoyable stay — great location, comfortable villa, and excellent value for money.

The location is fantastic — just a short walk to Seminyak Square. For the price point, this villa offers excellent value. We stayed in a three-bedroom villa with a private pool, which the kids absolutely loved. Yes, the villa is a little older and showing its age, as other reviews have mentioned, but don’t let that put you off — it’s still very comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was decent, and we ordered room service one evening, which was also quite good. We specifically chose this villa because it offers room service; while we mostly ate out, it was reassuring to know we had that option as a convenient backup. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. There’s no in-room safe, but each villa has access to a secure safe at reception. There’s also no room phone, but communication is handled through WhatsApp — which, honestly, works better. I wish more hotels would adopt that system. One evening we even ordered dinner via WhatsApp while driving back from Uluwatu — it was ready not long after we arrived. If you’re travelling as a family or a group of friends, I’d absolutely recommend choosing this over a hotel. The private open-air communal space makes it easy to relax and connect — it works perfectly in Bali’s warm climate and really adds to the experience.

There was no kettle provided, so we bought one ourselves for baby bottles. Also, as is common in Bali, there are no pool fences — so if you’re travelling with young children sleeping in their own room, just be mindful of that. Other than those small points, there really weren’t any negatives for us — the previous reviews were accurate and reflected our experience.
