Impressive beautiful resort. 10/10

How much can I praise this place? Maya Ubud Resort is beautifully presented from the moment you enter, and due to their high standards across every level of the resort. It is extremely well managed. Excellent service by all staff, especially the butlers assigned to villas. The butlers were attentive, helpful and efficient. The wonderful grounds throughout the resort are exceptionally maintained by groundkeepers and so beautiful to look upon. The choice of restaurants and the room service food was also excellent. All staff were consistently happy and so friendly. It is a joyful environment and I felt at complete peace here. I was able to relax fully. The Heavenly Villa with private pool, overlooking the jungle, was impeccable with stylish modern furnishings and very spacious. Everything was perfect, and all our needs were met. Insightful thoughtfulness has gone into the design and the equipping of these villas. We were very happy with everything about the villa. We also enjoyed massages at the Maya spa. It far surpassed the usual spa retreats we have been to in Bali. Everything we needed was at the resort, and we had no need to leave it during our stay. Overall, it was the best experience in travel we have had for a while, and we will be sure to return to Maya Ubud Resort everytime we visit Bali.

A hidden gem very relaxing, peaceful and delighted with the whole place.

Area was very green and lush. Hotel was very clean, comfortable, lovely room and staff we met were exceptional. These included Sumi and Rika in the restaurant were exceptionally pleasant , butlers Rani and Gangga were helpful and Yoga, Riki, Gus and Unitara were pleasant and helpful.

A good stay but service could be better

The hotel is located close to the city though you have to take a grab to get there or use the shuttle. It is located beside a river within a forest, so quite pleasant to have a walk. Pools are fantastic and breakfast was amazing.

Staff can be friendlier and unfortunately value for money is low. If I come back next time, won’t be paying this much, not worth it. Sometimes you may get the feeling that hotel prioritises earning revenue than providing a good quality service.

A stunning location with delicious food

We had an amazing family holiday. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the grounds are beautiful. The housekeeping were exceptional. We had a napping toddler so our villa was cleaned whenever we requested same. The food was delicious. The butlers were always on hand and checked in often. They sourced the best Nanny who came with a bag full of toys, our son loved her. The setting and kids pool were great. As this was a family holiday we took advantage of the kids club. Our son loved it there and the staff were phenomenal and so good at their jobs. An excellent facility. Also very handy having the free shuttle bus into Ubud. The groundsmen kept the hotel in pristine condition. Lots to do here.

The kids club closed for the day at 1.30 and this meant the outdoor play area was also not accessible either which was disappointing.

Perfect place to unwind with great team taking care of you

This resort is perfect! From the location, design, cleanliness, amenities and food options. And of course the staff. The whole team is awesome. Our butlers Rani, Rupa and Aris really took good care of us. Wayan, the chef, made our Teppanyaki experience unforgettable. The Spa team was great as well. Everyone from the restaurant and the pools made sure we are attended with our needs. I highly recommend Maya Ubud Resort & Spa to those who want a peaceful retreat in Bali.

Nice stay in beautiful jungle

++ Nice location inside forest, large resort area, friendly staff, usually in such tropical resorts you get insects & geccos as a bonus in your room, but our villa was absolutely clean. Bravo.

Overengineered and under loved

River views are fantastic and clean which is a rarity in Bali. The lush canopy and the running river are the gems of this hotel. Aerial yoga was nice at an additional cost. My butler was fantastic, kind and super responsive.

The whole place feels a bit overengineered and under loved. If you're into country clubs, you might feel at home here. Service from some staff was exceptional, shout out to Aris, and from others it was non-existent. The river restaurant was closed during my stay, so the pool was the only place to secure a spot with a view. Understandably, it was crowded. The cubby lounges there sit directly behind the lounge chairs, which felt a bit condensed and uncomfortable. Both times I visited, I struggled to find a spot and was not offered a menu, though I was asked for my room number and others were getting service despite the restaurant being closed. Spa patrons have to inch past these lounge chairs to get to their spa rooms. The spa services for me were a huge letdown. I opted for an herbal treatment after learning upon arrival that the scrub for 1.5m was just a gentle exfoliating cream you'd find at the store. My therapist was ill, and I felt terrible for her, so the first half of my treatment didn't accomplish much. For me, it tells a lot about a place if an employee feels uncomfortable asking for what they need. I did request a discount for my treatment, which they agreed to. There's a lot of potential here given the natural surroundings, and I wish the best for them.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of nature!

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the hotel blends perfectly into its natural surroundings. The staff are overall very pleasant and attentive. Dinner was correct, but the price felt very high compared to what was offered. During our stay at another hotel in Ubud, the food quality was exceptional at a much more reasonable price. Breakfast, while decent, could also be improved when compared to other 5-star hotels we have visited. A special thanks to Mr. Parnata and Juni for their kindness and genuine care – their attentiveness truly made a difference. We have already fallen in love with this artistic gem in the middle of nature, and we’ll definitely come back very soon ❤️

Just allround an amazing experience. It’s a little bubble in the middle of the jungle and it feels very cozy, homely and welcoming. We had the best stay. We traveled with three kids, one of which only six months old, and staff made sure they had the best time at every turn. Really remarkable.

The hotel setting is undeniably beautiful and is 100% what influenced our decision to book. The jungle infinity pool is like something out or a movie and is breathtaking. Our stay included some lovely elements that we appreciated. The resort's concept of blending in with nature and creating an intimate atmosphere is charming, and the butler we were assigned was excellent. The overall setting felt thoughtfully designed, it felt relaxing and immersive. We also appreciated that, despite a misunderstanding regarding the minibar, the staff were polite and did not press for payment. These gestures, though small, did not go unnoticed and contributed to a generally pleasant impression of the resort.

There were several areas where the experience fell short of expectations for the price point and the resort’s star rating. Communication around the reservation process was unclear—particularly the requirement to pay in advance—and the location of our room was noisy due to frequent, fast-moving buggies that went straight past our ground floor room. The room’s twin beds, pushed together, lacked a comfortable mattress topper, making sleep uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi in our room was unreliable. Our booking for the Mayasari Restaurant on the first night was mishandled, leaving us feeling like an afterthought, with no host to greet us, an unset table, and missing menus and tableware. In terms of facilities, we found the shared pools often full, which can be frustrating for guests whose rooms don’t include a private jacuzzi or pool. A later shuttle service into Ubud would also be much appreciated, as the last one at 17:20 made evening plans inconvenient. There was lack of assistance after check-out which gave the impression that service stopped the moment our bill was settled. These were all relatively small issues in isolation, but they added up over the course of our stay. While none of them would prevent us from returning, they did affect the overall experience when compared with other 4/5-star hotels we’ve stayed in.

A truly magical and extraordinary stay in a paradise

Words can’t express how we feel about this heaven spot on Earth. A hidden gem in the rainforest.. First of all I would like to express how exceptional this resort is. We started our honeymoon at Maya and it exceeded our highest expectations! We got an incredible room with a private pool with an overview of the rainforest - thank you for that! The stuff was just amazing, words can’t simply express how incredible everyone was. From the very first moment of our arrival to the very last second - top notch! The welcome drink - my absolute favourite! Your kindness, generosity, hospitality is simply outstanding! Special thanks to Gus who looked after us for the whole of our stay. He made sure that our experiences at and outside of the resort were smooth and truly special. It has been a truly magical trip; a trip of a lifetime and we will definitely come back ! It will become a part of our journey forever locked in our hearts and souls. Special thanks to Bogus who served us during our romantic dinner and a lovely and incredible manger of the Tree Cafe Restaurant ( I do apologise for forgetting your name). But we are truly grateful for all the time, attention, care and love we received. It felt like a second come to us. A place is made not by just a beautiful views, but PEOPLE. And Maya Hotel is definitely such a place… I wanted to also emphasise how fantastic this venue is for a romantic gateway. A place where you can disconnect from the business of everyday life and truly reconnect with your Self. There were some families with kids, but we had the intimacy and quiet zone for the whole of the stay. For kids there are special activities. Yoga class is fabulous and truly at its essence. The spa is one of the best I’ve ever been to. We had two treatments and it’s worth every penny. Oh and absolutely glorious food ! Romantic dinner and floating breakfast - a dream come true ! I truly recommend this paradise!

It was all very nice and good. The whole complex was very well maintained and the stuff is super friendly. The price is totally worth it.

The only think that I would like to know in advance - there was a list with activities, some of the marked as free. So we took a photo session, that was marked free. Once showing at the lobby for the session - we've been told that for the free option we are only getting 1 printed picture. If we would like to have the whole photo session - the prices are much higher than expected, of course - you have the option to take only the 1 photo and pay nothing, which is still great! I guess it would be better to be more transparent about it at the list. We would still book the session and enjoy paying for the photos, but this way it just felt that we are being lied.

Great staff small rooms leaking air conditioner

The forest trail and the restaurant on the property was very nice

My room air conditioner was constantly leaking and for two days I kept struggling with this issue ..my last night was living in a puddle with constant water dripping which meant I couldn’t sleep I had booked a 90 minutes spa but the therapy lasted only 75 minutes The spa was very relaxing but the cheating on timing was so unprofessional

A perfect stay in Ubud.

This really is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious & have every comfort that you need - complete with personal butler service. The butler connects with you both personally & via what’s app so that your every need is catered too. All the staff are gorgeous. So warm & welcoming. The gardens, pools, hotel, restaurants etc are all well maintained & visually beautiful. I really enjoyed the food & as a coeliac I found that it was so easy to eat here & I had loads of choices & the menus are clearly marked. The staff understood my dietary requirements. There is entertainment each evening & there is really no need to leave this hotel. There is however a shuttle bus service to Ubud that runs every hour between 9am & 5pm & the trip only takes 10 minutes. So exploring Ubud is easy. The staff at Maya are all outstanding. I can’t wait to return.

There is nothing to dislike about this property. Plus the personal butler & each staff member cater to your every need. You would only have to ask for something & they would get it for you.
