Orkneylodge is in a quiet location overlooking the Bay of Houton and close to the jetty for the Hoy ferry. A warm welcome from Lorraine on arrival, with advice on places to eat and things to do during our stay on the island. This is room only accommodation, so you do need transport to get to a cafe or restaurant for meals.

Great location, very quiet with amazing views. Very conveniently if you wanted to take the ferry, good size car park. As a solo traveller I found it perfect for my needs.
Although I appreciate it was accommodation only it would be useful to have a small fridge for any perishable.

Great stay in an outstanding scenery, beautiful landscape!Hosts very kind and helpful and a charming welcome Gin arrangement in the Room!
Lovely Room with great view, comfortable beds and nice furniture; Tea cooking accessoires, very clean and nice bathroom!
On the whole a great stay and very recommended for relaxing and recreation!

Comfy bed, quiet, good temperature in the room and never woke up to a cold room. Shower was hot with good water pressure, carpets looked new, nice view out the window. Lots of parking available.
No shared kitchen, no option of breakfast, nowhere close to buy breakfast. Luckily, nowhere in Orkney is too far away if you have a car.
Outside looked a bit drab. Felt a bit like the shining because the village (?) seemed empty and we were the only guests. But it was middle of cost of living crisis so maybe there were less tourists in general.
Reception looked dated. We’d stayed somewhere else the night before we arrived and it cost 2/3 of the price and was a much nicer place.
