Solid, comfortable option - perfect for breaking the drive out West

The staff were very helpful when we were delayed on the road and had to arrive well after midnight. The room was very warm and comfortable, and the breakfast was also great.

I didn't mind this at all, but our block was furthest from the clubhouse and an older or less mobile guest might prefer to know this beforehand (there were closer rooms).

Location very close to main roads but still quiet location and the food was very good

Seemed to hear other residents moving around their rooms and hearing adjacent resident tv a little too clearly but their is a notice about noise after a certain time so I guess you would be able to complain after this time if it was a problem

A pleasant stay on the whole.

Comfortable beds. Nice view from the restaurant. Bacon was good!

No WiFi in rooms was disappointing. Undercooked sausages and tomatoes at breakfast. Also the coffee machine wasn’t working properly, which led to an enormous queue. Not enough cups.

Budget for what you get was good

The rooms tea and coffee facility's were missing a tray to put the wet tea bag. Also the bed, was obviously 2 singles put together, so trying to get comfortable was hard, because the join in the middle was really uncomfortable

Would stay again

Clean spacious rooms, beds comfortable. The bathroom floor could do with being changed as it appeared a leak had been fixed, but you could see the water mark left behind. (Room 25). Staff very nice.

Fantastic customer service. I needed to book 3 rooms for a group booking and arrange early check in. Trethorne were great with facilitating this for me. The rooms were all very clean and the price was very reasonable.

It was very clean beds comfy food was pretty nice and the staff was lovely

No mini fridge for drinks as we had our son with us and would have been good so can store his milk for the morning and night time.

Noisy

It had plenty of golf facilities. Driving range, 18 hole course, putting green and chipping green.

If was very noisy behind v next to the road. Triple glazing would help. Room 28 that I had,had the immersion water tank for the whole building in a cupboard so whenever anyone else used a hot tap, the immersion water tank got very noisy. The rooms were comfortable but a a bit tired.

Loved that it had a golf course - could play as they didnt have clubs to rent. Location is ok - we went to dartmoor np for hikes. Rooms size is large.

Notwithstanding the noise from the room above we had a nice stay and would recommend Trethorne.

The breakfast was excellent value, well cooked and presented. The restaurant was clean and ideally situated.

In the main we had an enjoyable stay. Whilst our room was peaceful overnight it was spoilt somewhat on the night of the 12th by people in the room above moving about and the TV being on until 02.00 in the morning. The floor of the upstairs room creaked considerably ; the guests involved had decided to completely ignore the notice requesting peace and quiet between 22.00 and 07.00

It is a lovely place to stay ..would book again

We were very pleased with the room. Lovely big, comfy bed spacious and clean.. everything we needed for an overnight stay. The evening meal was delicious, good value and a varied menu. Buffet style breakfast was very nice. A good choice of hot dishes plus continental breakfast.

It didn't spoil our stay but traffic noise could disturb some guests. I am a heavy sleeper, so I had a good night's sleep once the window was closed.. our cottage was nearest the main road, so accommodation nearer the restaurant probably wouldn't be affected by traffic.

A good place to stay if all you need is a room and some breakfast.

Rooms were clean and comfortable with television and aircon. The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was very nice. Staff were friendly.

Long walk to the room if you have no car. Should have been offered a lift in a golf buggy. Breakfast on the 2nd day was not replenished quickly if at all.

We were given room 1 when we first arrived. Unfortunately it had had a major leak some time ago and staff said they were unaware of the mould on the wall and ceiling. After letting them know we were given a twin room in one of the cottages which was very nice and comfortable.

It was better than we were expecting the stay to be and overall we were well pleased with the hotel.

It was average but lacked the normally supplied scrambled egg though they did supply fried egg. The restaurant area was spacious and the serving area was well supported.

We would have preferred the option of scrambled egg to the fried egg on offer. The croissants tray was noT topped up when we would have liked some more.

Great room but very hot.

Nice room with very comfortable bed and powerful shower. Breakfast was great - really nice buffet and everything well cooked and presented.

The radiator in the bathroom was on full making both the bathroom and the bedroom very warm. Not great for mid summer. The thermostat was stuck in the on position. The member of staff couldn’t fix it or open the bathroom window which was stuck.

Room was excellent. Clean, tidy, well presented and stocked. Comfy bed and nice shower. Food- Dinner and breakfast tasty and fresh. Location within Golf club was a nice setting.

There should be blinds in both the bathroom and toilet for privacy and a window net in bedroom again for privacy.
