Excellent. Highly recommend.

Secluded, quiet, family and pet friendly. The rural vibes. You get a warm welcome with a freshly pressed apple juice. Ross is a cool fellow.

I like my toilet separate from the shower just so I don’t get wet using it but either than that excellent place.

Absolutely in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet and secluded overlooking fields Very good Wi-Fi and FreeviewTV. Comfortable and good kitchen facility

Nothing really not to like however my Lodge ( the only one ) was tucked in the corner and my hot tub was round the back which I found a little bit claustrophobic / the other front lodges had their Jacuzzi’s at the side overlooking the fields.

Amazing place, amazing location

The place was amazing, relaxing, peaceful, and so well connected with nature. It has a fishing lake and it is so good for spending the time by the lake and if you like fishing it has nice fish in there too. The host, Ross, is very kind and helpful, any information I need he answered and helped me too. Very close to lydford national trust park just a little bit of driving, same for the beach. I highly recommend it .

It was a lovely break away from home in a lovely location. 5 stars!

The location was lovely and peaceful and the accommodation is basic but very cosy and provides everything that you need for a base. We really enjoyed our stay and loved using the hot tub, despite the terrible weather. The location is rural, and an odd choice for us considering we live rural. However, we do not live near the coast and having the ability to drive to the beach within 20 minutes was lovely. It was a home from home without all the domestic chores!

The shower was not very powerful. However, that's a personal preference! It was hot and it worked, so no complaints ;-)

We booked via Booking.com because we wanted somewhere quiet to relax that would accept two small dogs. We came across Avalon Lodges and thought WOW, so we booked with NO hesitation. When we arrived we were not disappointed, and after settling in the owner Ross came to meet us and say hello. Such a friendly chap, who gave us a bit of local information and a few ideas to do with the doggies. Our lodge was called Sycamore, and came complete with a Hot Tub, wow that will do nicely ! Great value for money, we would most certainly go back there again !

Nothing at all on this visit. Nobody else was staying at the time, so we could do what we liked . Hot tub at 11pm at night NO problem. The roads are interesting, but you soon get used to them.

Fantastic escape from the chaos and loudness of London!

It was a cute little cottage surrounded by the most beautiful nature! The quietness was fantastic! A true escape from the chaos of London! No point for us to go to a busy Cornwall town! Here, we got to enjoy the stars, the birds, the sheep and chickens! Exactly what we needed! The biggest shoutout to WIN, the cutest and best behaved border collie! She just wants some cuddles and listens when told to go home!

Nothing! It was great! Just make sure you bring all your essentials with you, including toilet paper 😀 you always the option to buy from the little “shop” in the car park!

Cute and cosy , peaceful getaway.

The peace ! We were lucky enough to have the entire site to ourselves, we were greated by 2 chickens , a lovely chap who pointed to where to go if we needed anything , and a vrr friendly farm dog who I believe belonged to the lady living in the house at the end of the lodges.

Kitchen area wasn't cleaned. We were provided with cleaning products/items so I got on with a little wipe down which turned into a pretty deep clean. Unfortunately I did find mouse droppings in the saucepans.

Nice but some improvements needed

The surrounding area is nice and relaxing. The lodges are nice overall.

The lodges are not well cleaned, lot of dust and cobwebs. There is a lot of damp and mold around the windows and an unpleasant smell. The bathroom is really old and the kitchen equipment not cleaned properly and not enough for dining or cooking. The furniture is very basic and quite dated as well.

Amazing half term break

Great peaceful location. Our eighth consecutive visit to Avallon Lodges at autumn half term. Cornwall has so many amazing gems within a short drive. Bude 20 mins by car. Newquay 1 hour. We visited our niece at Plymouth Uni just over an hour away. Our dog loved walks around the lake which was ablaze with autumn colour. Love all the farm and family animals. Whitstone stores and post office a ten minute drive about 4 miles away. There are larger stores in Launceston or Bude.

Nothing other than it’s a shame it wasn’t nearer. Such an amazing place in a beautiful county.

My new favourite happy place

The lodge was lovely and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Location was beautiful very peaceful quiet, scenic and perfect. Customer service was amazing Ross went above and beyond to accommodate us, This is by far the best overall stay we have had for many years of stays across the country, will definitely be coming back I actually think this is my new favourite happy place.
