An unfortunate technical error set the trip off to a bad start

The swimming pool was good and the gym.

1. It was booked as one adult and two children. The room had one double bed and one single. So either the adult had a child sharing their bed, or the adult had to take the single bed. Even Travelodge and Premier Inn accommodate with three separate beds. 2. Upon arrival there was an issue with the payment. It did not appear to have gone through to the hotel. Although the issue was clearly not mine, the receptionist was quite abrupt and unhelpful. I presented her with the booking dot com email stating it had been paid, I showed her it coming out of my bank account and even emailed over the verification from booking.com. She insisted that I call booking.com to sort and so our first hour in the hotel was dealing with this, when we were already pressed for time. We have had this issue previously with booking.com at a different hotel and the staff member there could not have been more helpful in sorting it for us. 3. As an aside the hairdryer drawer had no hairdryer in it.

Staff made the stay great

The staff are so lovely and had a really lovely one night stay room was lovely. The pool looked good

The food was terrible and we got money taken off. The menu needs to be looked into. I didn’t finish my meal as it was really poor. The bacon didn’t look cooked. I think it was microwaved the chips were raw. The food was just terrible. If we knew the menu was not the same online we would have gone out somewhere else. The bar was full so couldn’t sit at the bar either.

Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Won’t be back

The food in the evening was so good, staff in the restaurant were lovely

Room was freezing cold, heating didn’t work, shower was broken at first causing fire alarm to go off, rooms were dated, walls were dripping with water, paint was flaking off. Decor is dated, it was the worst stay in a hotel I’ve ever had. Breakfast was not good. We checked out early because my kids wanted to ‘go home and get warm’

Great break seeing family.

We enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish staff where amazing nothing was a both to any of them all very professional bar and restaurant food was amazing good value for money and our room was just perfect everything we needed and the swimming pool steamroom and the jacuzzi was a lovely bonus .Will be back for sure .

An excellent stay in a family-friendly hotel.

Very spacious rooms with a warm welcome from everyone especially the bar and restaurant staff. Reasonable prices. The lift was easy handy to go up a floor with our suitcases. Great ambience when you enter the foyer. There is a small leisure club with a gym, a pool and a jacuzzi. Free car parking is available and the bus stop isn't far for those commuting by public transport. There is a small Tesco and Esso petrol station from the main road. There is also a small shopping area in Barnhill. A few minutes walk from the hotel. The town of Monifieth, Angus is just nearby and an easy walk to Broughty Ferry beach.

Great stay, would definitely go again.

Room was lovely. Big and well laid out. Very quiet and dark at night. The staff were really helpful and kind. Dinner was tasty, with a good range of options and well priced. Hotel was excellent value for money.

The beds were a little hard and the room got very hot and stuffy which meant didn't get such a great sleep. Could probably just have opened a window though, if we had thought to.

Broughty Ferry overnight trip

Clean, restaurant and bar area nice, food very good especially evening meal. Pool area quiet and well maintained. Room clean and comfortable. Hotel in good area

Room quite cold, however staff gave me a heater so this wasn't an issue. Shower not great power and water not hot enough, old hotel so not surprised

Location & parking good, lovely gardens & good external appearance! Some staff good especially bar lady who was very professional ! Some restaurant staff okay.

Room poor ,no drawers for clothes ,very spacious,but few surfaces ! Bed good but poor pillows! Shower awful ,controls difficult to move & bath water running at same time as shower,hot water in basin dangerously hot ! Reception staff very poor,after 10 emails pre visit,didn’t have the details that we wanted upgraded room & breakfasts both days ! They didn’t apologise for getting it so wrong.when we settled the bill,couldn’t have cared less & didn’t offer receipt ! Breakfasts okay,but cutlery & napkins could have been from a cafe!

Room was pretty smelly on arrival. Asked for an air freshener to be left in the room as we checked in and in a rush to get out. Arrived back at night and as smelly as when we left with no air freshener. No plugs next to the beds, all were across the other side of the room which is a bit weird in this day and age.

Cleanliness of hotel excellent, friendly and helpful staff, location was great, breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from.

Only down side for us was having to pay an additional charge of £7.50 each to use pool facilities.

Very dated,old uncomfortable beds with mattresses that were broken,staff were not very friendly, spa facilities old and dated, no brochures, poor toiletries, noisy rooms.

Spoil yourself in a lovely extension of your home

The facilities, room and staff were superb. We did not have any food as it was a short stay. This is a lovely place, which we have previously stayed in, hence this one night stopover again. I can highly recommend spending time here.
