Public rooms all very warm and comfortable and welcoming. Restaurant was good with lovely views over the Tay.

Our bedroom was comfortable and functional. However the spacious room was extremely bland .. not even a single piece of art on the walls and everything was a shade of brown.

Good location overlooking the Tay and outside space. Good breakfast selection and seating area. Pleasant helpful staff.

Bedrooms could do with a refurb but for a 3 star it was adequate.

My son has a complex disability and studies at a nearby University so I visit the area regularly and appreciate a comfortable place where I can rest. I have stayed in many hotels in both St Andrews and Dundee and the Invercarse Hotel is one of my favourites. A beautiful elevated setting with views across the gardens and mighty Tay river beyond, inviting restaurant and bar, excellent breakfast including decent coffee which scores highly for me, friendly staff, clean and beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom and plenty of free parking. Ticks all my boxes

The hotel is in a great location close to Ninewells Hospital and Dundee Airport and not far from the city itself. The view over the Tay is beautiful. Our room was very spacious and well-equipped and we spent a very comfortable night there. Lovely restaurant with a varied menu and good food. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Not much water pressure in the shower

very unpleasant staff without understanding. they charge a lot, even for what other hotels are happy to accommodate. all this without shame or compassion. they only value money, money and only money. too expensive for what they offer. the hotel is old, the floors creak, the carpets are not clean enough. I am sure that my team and I will not come to that hotel again

A freshly cooked breakfast

Lovely hotel, with an amazing view, bed was comfy,room clean and a big bathroom.we had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and the food was terrific,very pleasant staff to talk to.

Just a pity there isn’t a door from car park to rooms, wow really long hallways , but not a problem.

The twin bed room location was appalling. It overlooked a vast flat roof with boiler room(?) and fan outlet. The boiler was incredibly noisy even during the night when it still came on intermittently. On the internal side the room was next to the main ventilation system for the hotel which was excessively noisy and obtrusive. In addition, the room was too hot and could not be moderated by turning the radiator off and opening the windows. As a consequence of the above I had virtually no sleep during the night and can honestly say that it was the worst night's sleep I have ever had in my life. It ruined our short stay in Dundee. Finally, the condition/cleanliness of the breakfast plates was very poor with a large proportion of them being dirty and still retaining dried food residue - possibly from a faulty dishwasher. Clearly, the plates had not been checked prior to their use. I will not be going back to this hotel and would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

Ned was large and comfortable. Room was clean. Had breakfast for £14 on the last day before travelling home.

It was a little noisy at around 8 each morning. Bin men on morning 1. Think it was glass collection day 2 and looked like a delivery on morning 3 all at about 8. Would have preferred this to have been half an hour later

The hotel & staff were lovely. Also, the view out the front of the hotel was beautiful.

Some vegatables were not cooked properly & the salmon on the Seafood Platter was poor. It was very small amount of 'flakes', that must have been placed on plate straight from the fridge, instead of something more substantial & heated up. Also, Bar food would be a good idea too.

Great place to stay, staff very friendly and helpful, good, breakfast with plenty of choices of different foods .The room was excellent for my husband who has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair, we were able to park close to our room (entry though patio doors), avoiding hotel stairs. Would definitely stay here again.

A proper coffee machine in the room would be great (not just Nescafé instant coffee).

Booked through Booking .com . Put on booking form my wife had difficulty with stairs. Hotel wrote back to say that offer was not available as it was upstairs but they would give me a downstairs room at increased cost. When we got to hotel they gave me a room with only four sets on three stairs inside or go go outside to room but key didn't always work from outside. It was raining so struggled inside --receptionist couldn't care less about our situation --very grumpy---won't stay there again.

No elevator to rooms on upper floors, very difficult to move luggage up and down. No air-conditioning, had to leave windows open (which only open a little way to prevent accidents) to get air making it noisy (road noise).

Rooms very dated and basic now. Used to be really lovely. It was noisy outside my room- very creaky floors. Dinner in restaurant was disappointing. Eaten there many times before but standards have really slipped. Much of menu kept running out- felt very sorry for the waitstaff as they kept apologising.

Lovely stay and very nice food and a good selection of breakfast. My only suggestion is that the coffee is served to the table.
