Gertrude Hotel self check-in

Easy to Check in.i asked for quiet room and got it.

I didnt had Hot Walter on the evening to have a bath and i asked for double size blanket būt didnt get it.

- location bus and tram station nearby - railway station around 20miuntes by walk - during entire stay (4nights) I ordered only once a taxi otherwise I walked to all places - cafés, restaurants, supermarket walkable 1-5mins - breakfast was totally ok, I personally just missed more dessert options 😅 - host replied very fast always - self checkin easy and smooth - coffee and snack machine in lobby, prices totally affordable - lobby area - my room was on sixth floor - ironing equipment in cupboard

- I don’t know why, but I was staying 4 nights but housekeeping has been done only 1 time during entire stay - only one big towel and one small towel, would be perfect at least 2 of both sizes, specially if housekeeping is not done daily - no real person at reception. not a big deal as communication via WhatsApp was very quick. but for this price range at least for maybe few hours could be very helpful and would be a big plus in category service - wifi connection in my room wasn’t always stable, sometimes was disconnecting way too much

The district and the historical street where the hotel is located bring guests into the friendly open and welcoming vibe of the best central part of Riga. It's not only close to everything but opens up new cultural and social open spaces and connects you with different choices of spending your day in town and enjoying creativity and variety generously shared with guests in every place. There is a kitchen at the hotel designed like a Michelin restaurant.

There is a big supermarket not far from the hotel and it would be nice if there were free bikes offered by it to the guests. Because it's located on the other side,not in one of the streets between the hotel and the city center. As a general notice,central Riga needs big supermarkets because the small ones are too small and not sustainable.

It was impossible to wash myself. There was no shower, there was a bathtub with water tap instead, but the closing of the bathtub did not work. So it was not possible to use the bath, and also impossible to shower. I had no time to sort this out with the staff as I had an early meeting, I had to leave unwashed and unrefreshed 😬
