Gorgeous stay in historic cottage

Property was in the heart of the gorgeous De Waterkant locale. Lovely vibe around the area, easy to walk to waterfront, commercial district and stadium. We could sit on the front patio and watch the world go by, kitchen was very well stocked in terms of crockery and cutlery, glass, pots and pans. The Spar was close by and restaurants and bars within minutes (and some within seconds - albeit key to note, although two were basically next door/across the road there was little noise outside of that lovely vibe of mumurings of content from patrons enjoying summer evenings). Property in great condition, nice little splash pool. Photos on De Waterkant Cottages website are a very accurate portrayal of the property, we did not want to leave. Engagement throughout the process from James and Okhule was very good, with Okuhle meeting me bang on time at the property to hand over the keys. Look forward to staying in a De Waterkant Cottage on my next trip.

This is a townhouse on 3 levels so the stairs can be a bit challenging.

We love Cape Town but would think twice about returning to De Waterkant Cottages, certainly not no 76.

Location and staff were both very good . In particular James was very helpful.

76 Waterkant St is not suitable for elderly visitors like my wife and myself because of the excessive number of steps/ stairs. We slept on the ground floor but still had to negotiate steps up from the street, onto a small landing, into the bedroom and then into the bathroom. We specifically did not use the stairs down to the basement bedroom or upto the first floor lounge/bedroom so as to avoid these risks. The ground floor water was always either warm or scalding hot. Cold water from a tap was available on first floor only. The sink in the ground floor bathroom sprayed out of the basin onto the user or floor. Apparently some tap problem. The safe was tiny and the key didn’t work.

Great location with plenty stores close by. This property had a rear patio that got sun morning and afternoon. Very spacious inside and well equipped.

Location was great, views amazing . It had all the amenities we needed . It was well maintained and communication was great with the managers. Offered trips, and transport with very good guides. Highly recommend

The only negative is the third bedroom is very small - so I would say 1 person for that room not 2 to be comfortable - and the water pressure low - which is not their fault

The view of table mountain on the rooftop deck. Chill in the jacuzzi while enjoying the scenery of the ocean and table mountain. Having a bbq with family and friends in the yard was relaxing. Location is excellent

Great apartment in a lovely location.

Good communication from the host and an early check-in accomodated.

A key broke in a door lock - no big deal, just one of those unfortunate things. What was a concern was that a large glass table collapsed and this could have caused a serios injury. I got away with a heavily bruised right toe! The host dealt with eveything in a proffesional manner to our satisfaction.

A nice place made disappointing by the admin required outside of booking.com and staff attitude.

The admin of completing forms, checking in and paying a deposit was not worth staying at the property. Staff were not helpful with guests arriving at different times.

Beautiful cottage in an amazing location.

The cottage was very beautiful and spacious. Location felt very safe and was very conveniently located close to shops, restaurants and the waterfront. Communication with the hosts and airport pickup driver was very easy and seamless.

Dry nice gateway in town.

Easy check in, and they give you a permit to park which is a very good idea in this area The location is great with all coffee shops, bars and restaurants around the corner but inside the house it’s quiet. The house was spacious, cosy, well furnished, comfy beds and a huge bathroom.

Maybe more coffee pods when you stay more than 1 night.

What a gem in

We loved this accommodation in the Waterkant area of Cape Town. Lots of space, beautifully furnished rooms, everyone had their own bathroom. The small pool was much appreciated in the heat and the roof terrace was a wonderful place to chill out.

Excellent, Well-Appointed and Centrally Positioned

The perfect location for a traveller needing to be central to the City. Lovely shops and restaurants in walking distance, comprehensive guest file with suggestions of local attractions to try.

Being De Waterkant you should be fit as you will walking up and down steep hills. Walking any distance from your car to your accommodation with a wheeled suitcase is a rough trek on cobbled roads (especially up the hills!). Street parking is limited, although you can park securely in the Cape Quarter paid parkade and walk.

it was an excellent stay - we loved every minute of it

We loved the set up. it was easy for Ubers to get to us. were were close to almost everything we wanted to see. the Hot Tub was a highlight . the amenities were more than sufficient - we only had breakfast in the apartment so we didn't use much of the stuff but for those who are going full on self catering the stuff in the apartment is perfect for all meals. the hosts were accomodating since we did an early checkin and also needed a slightly late checkout that we had really no control over since work was involved so the host was acomodating to that which we really appreciated. The Zulu traditional hats were a great touch to the decor.

Hot Tub was a highlight but it cannot fit 8people comfortably lol so if your max is 8 in the apartment a bigger one should be considered some day. Also just a suggestion is that the TV should be in the bigger sitting area. because the upstairs seating is limited so Tv time is really not a full group thing- upstairs can focus on being like a mini games area perhaps without the tv. Shower in the downstairs room would be better

Excellent location and property.

The location was outstanding. Property includes safe, free parking (with permit), which is essential. The apartment was exceptionally clean and very well furnished. Very comfortable beds and the rooftop jacuzzi amazing. Excellent view of city and Table Mountain. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. James at check-in was exceptionally friendly and check-in quick. Overall very good service and outstanding stay. We will be back. Thank you
