Dixon House in De Waterkant by Cape Finest

wonderful location and ambience walking distance to restaurants and cafe's secure and safe lovely staff

We stayed at Dixon House from Wednesday to Saturday and really enjoyed our visit. The room and common areas were clean, and the staff were very friendly. Free fast internet, Netflix and YouTube. Breakfast was good quality, although the selection was not especially wide. The location is excellent. There are many restaurants within a short walk, including Vietnamese, Korean, Moroccan and Indian options. We also enjoyed the very good coffee shops and Japanese cake shop nearby. The city centre and the V&A Waterfront are within walking distance, and there are some excellent running routes in the area. Safe, free street parking was available nearby.

There was not much we disliked. Our room was next to the main entrance, so we could sometimes hear people coming and going, but it was manageable and did not detract from our stay. Breakfast was served around the corner, about 30 metres away, rather than in Dixon House itself. We also had internet problems over the last two days and could not watch Netflix. For three nights in a row, the router made three or four loud beeps at around midnight. It was enough to wake us if we were asleep.
