Bluebird Loft

Really comfy bed. Also really cosy and warm - I was able to dry out after hikes in cold wet weather. Shops are really close by. I travelled there by public transport - the bus stop is just outside. Great walks and places to explore straight from the apartment.

Some of the light bulbs need replacing.

Plenty of hot water. Well supplied with basics like washing up liquid, soap, dish cloths etc.

The sofa was uncomfortable. The DVD player didn't have a remote.

The apartment itself looked very clean, tidy and welcoming and was very cosy! I liked that I could get Netflix on the Television channels and was able to get cosy in the evenings to watch some nice movies and my favourite programmes. The apartment is in a great area for exploring Coniston and not too far from the Coniston Inn which I would highly recommend for a meal out! The fire alarm is working excellently as it is sensitive to heat. Safety is of paramount importance to me.

On arrival, shortly after cooking a meal, the fire alarm went off! It turned out to be as a result of someone cooking downstairs. Both myself and the guy in the lower apartment struggled to reset it after I had called out the fire brigade, thinking there was a fire as no one answered when I called out. The gate got jammed and twice I had to climb over it. I phoned Sykes Cottages and they assured me someone would come over to fix it. At the end of the day, no one had fixed the jammed gate and I had to climb over the fence. Because of this, I felt that I had to be rude to get results in insisting that someone comes over immediately. The gate was then fixed! The lock on the apartment door takes ages to figure out but I had to have several goes to figure out how to lock it. When I opened the kitchen window, the smells from rancid food coming from somewhere outside made the apartment smell gross and it took a long time to get rid of the smell. Last but not least, I got a whiff of what I can only describe as urine while sitting on the sofa. I started to doubt it and suspected that it might be my imagination but on the following days I noticed smells from near the sofa but couldn't work out what they were.
