    This is a very high-ended onsen resort, they even have a private helicopter inside! Located deep in the mountains of Yufuin, it takes 15 minutes to drive from JR Yufuin Station to the resort. They provide free shuttle service. Please note that you are not able to access the resort by using public transport except taxi. I traveled with my parents this time and reserved 2 rooms. Actually each room is an individual house, each has a private onsen. One room has a Japanese style garden with indoor onsen and the other one has an open-air onsen. The rooms are very large and clean. When it comes to the food, it was a little bit disappointed. According to their official website, the restaurant "炭熊" is famous for its charcoal grilled cuisine, and we were looking forward to it. But our dinner was Wagyu shabu-shabu, and we were not able to taste their signature charcoal grilled food. Nevertheless, the food ingredients are still superior and fresh. If you want to have a luxury onsen experience , this resort is definitely a good choice.
