Fatima and Ashraf are very kind and helpful! We took the offer for Abu Simbel, Philae, and the transportation to Luxor with visiting 2 temples. The drivers are trustworthy and we enjoy the flexible trips. The room is clean and well taken cared. We could do the laundry with Fatima’s help and Ashraf helped us with exchanging Egyptian pounds. Ashraf’s son even brought us to a Felucca trip! we really enjoyed the stay with them!

Very clean and comfy accommodation with a view over the Nile towards the busy east bank. Fatima came each morning to prepare a breakfast and we also organised drivers for day trips and our onward journey through the home owner. Recommended if you want a simple, cosy room on the Island.

Convenient location to the ferry and small shopping area. You can see the water from the porch. VERY responsive family and happy to help set up activities for you that do save you time and money booking on your own online. The image is the hostel, the boat was not the one we took it's not a felucca. The image of food was a typical lunch on the boat, really good. There is a restaurant nearby, Bob Marley, happy to serve you a beer, try the camel! Vey safe everywhere we walked. You can go to the botanical gardens from another side of the Island, not a long walk, dusty.

The breakfast was ok, we had better in terms of more things offered along the way. I would have preferred to have a hot water kettle available with instant coffee. The kitchen supplies were minimal. There was no coffee at breakfast. There was no drinking water available. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, the bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way. The TV remote was dated, it worked poorly. The bed pillows were hard foam or something. The roof top could be cleaned up for use! We were booked on a felucca for 3 nights. The crew was great, the food was great. The stop was not where we paid to go. The reason given was that the wind was difficult for the boat to get back. We felt that there was a lot of idle time on the water, stopping when we could have been sailing etc. We felt that we paid for something that we didn't get and it had an impact on the rest of our sightseeing for the next day. We would book only 2 nights if we were to do it over. The ferry to get across is segregated men in back, ladies in front. We didn't know this and it was not an issue. Nobody said anything to us the first time we went across. The second time it was brought up politely. 5EGP for tourists to go across, they have change if you don't.
