The location is perfect & the apartment felt like home away from home. Very clean & comfortable
No aircon in the apartment. The tag was not working so that was a struggle & no one came to help us with that.

The security guard was very friendly and helpful to find the lock box, I suppose if i was in a group or not alone it wouldn't have been so bad but not the best. The bed seemed comfortable but didn't;t feel comfortable or safe enough to stay the full night. The host was decent. Also not having an emergency button or phone if something were to happen was a bit nerve wracking. I'd love to be more positive but it's better as a very short stay with a bed.
I didn't feel very safe, the neighbours were loud, the balcony door handles were broken, there were hardly any amenities to cook and meal and it seemed quite run down. It wasn't dirty but as a solo female traveller I didn't feel comfortable so I left early.

Spar and tops are underneath it and self check in
Was dirty, no value for the amount of money we paid, couch were uncomfortable, bed bugs on the bed, one of the lights were not working, door was making constantly during the night. Left us a half roll of toilet paper upon entry. Pool were closed at 7 but after 8 there were members in the pool and the security guard told us we not allowed to enter

Unfortunately there isn't anything.
The host was extremely unaccommodating and showed no willingness whatsoever to meet us even slightly halfway. There was zero flexibility or effort to assist, despite the room having been vacant the previous night. We were not allowed to check in even one minute before the official check-in time, which was both frustrating and unnecessary.
This complete lack of consideration ultimately forced us to cancel the reservation, especially when another accommodation nearby was willing to be understanding and offer an earlier check-in. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and far below what one would reasonably expect.

Getting the key is great.
The apartment itself is appalling. It needs to be fumigated occasionally, as cockroaches where all over my luggage. Also the sheets and stains when I arrived, towels are old and worn out. You need to invest in making the place more comfortable. The couch has well has never been cleaned it has dark stains

To be honest there wasn’t anything to like about the property
The property was unhygienic from the moment we stepped in. The floor was dirty, the couch was dirty, the bedding was dirty! The kitchen was dirty. We opened the microwave and it was dirty. We opened the oven and it was dirty. The icing on the cake was when my wife went to the bathroom at 22h30pm in the evening she was met with cockroaches 🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️. Bear in mind we check in at the property around 18:30pm and left the property at 22:45pm. We couldn’t bear to stay in the place. Very very disappointed and felt like money wasted!

I feel absolutely defrauded by my stay at the Wex. The bathroom was absolutely FILTHY, even after I called a cleaner to clean my room again. The safety was a huge concern for me because open checking in and entering my room there was an unknown man in my room. The crockery had stains on it and the bedding had pilling all over. I had to end my stay after just one night because I felt unsafe and unclean.

The room we've booked didn't have air condition, the light in room some were not working, the cleaning lady didnt come to clean on a second day. They didn't sweep the floor.

The image did not match what I found in the room. The room had a hard bed, only two very flat pillows were provided on the bed, a used toilet paper roll and when I asked for a new toilet paper roll from the house keeper she told me to purchase my own. There was no ventilation in the room, the window could barely open, and no fan or air conditioner in the room in this hot Cape Town weather, after asking for one at reception and messaging nothing was done. This was extremely unpleasant considering that I am asthmatic. On Saturday afternoon while I was napping the housekeeper walked into my room, which startled me — this was another upsetting experience.

The whole place was packed in spiders there was condoms behind our bed the spiders were in the fridge microwave and stove when I opened the cupboard they all came running out we are full of bites need to go to the doctor the lights never worked and the microwave and everything never worked

Room number 528 and 804 windows hooks are broken so windows can’t even be opened if the windows blows
Room 528 was not cleant properly as a dirty tampon was laying underneath the bed when we arrived there and the cealing in the shower was hanging loose on the shower head not even proper dish clothes to wash up and the fans hardly works so moer ventilation should be done and windows should be fixed

Only think I liked that it was secure
Toilet seat as stain should be replaced,cracked window no ventilation as windows handled secure window is broken as well and glass and towels need replacing old and worn, pillows need replacing only two pillow provided for two guest staying which are flat like pancake. Toilet paper was 1 ply and only 50 percent of role asked for new roll but didn’t get one and had to purchase from spar another resident also complained about it. As we stayed for three days

The cleaning staff only took out rubbish bin. No mopping and changing of towels .

The location being close to alot of places in town. The Layout of the place is very easy to manover around.
When we arrived the room had a cigarette smoke smell. One of the windows were cracked broken and one of the glass panels were also cracked inside. Besides that, the fridge were scratched up. The Shower was leaking water if you showered for too long and the toilet had some permanent stain on it getting to your room and back downstairs takes long due to only 1 lift working.

When I first walked into the apartment, it smelt like cigarettes. I contacted the staff to provide air fresheners for the smell but I was told that the housekeeping staff left with those products. Also, the floors were sticky, which I didn’t understand. The window couldn’t close completely which caused so much noise from outside to filter in. The couches were visibly dirty with marks. I just didn’t expect all that nor did I enjoy my stay at Wex1. I stayed there because I needed a roof over my head for the night but I surely wouldn’t be returning.

The View
My stay was not as comfortable as I expected. The bed had an unpleasant smell, and I noticed a few bugs in the bathroom area. I reached out via Booking.com and WhatsApp, but unfortunately, I did not receive a reply.
I understand that unexpected issues can occur, but communication and cleanliness are essential for guest comfort. A prompt response and a deeper cleaning process would make a big difference and help maintain the good reputation of the property.
I truly hope this feedback is received in a constructive way — with a few improvements, the apartment could offer a much better experience for future guests.
