About this apartment rental

Oak Square of Gatlinburg is located in downtown Gatlinburg just steps from Ober Gatlinburg’s Aerial Tramway. It offers an indoor heated pool as well as a seasonal outdoor pool. There is also free wireless internet. The complex is also near several restaurants and within walking distance of the Gatlinburg Convention Center. This unit is a one bedroom with a king bed in the bedroom. It also has a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The bunk beds are located off the living area. The kitchenette consists of a small refrigerator, microwave, Coffee Maker, and a 2 burner range stove.

We were told we could check in early and then I was unable to get ahold of anyone in order to get the code for our door. The sofa bed was awful and not even my young children could use it. Thankfully they are still small enough that two could fit on one bunk. There were not any pots big enough to make something for the whole family. The king size bed was also not comfortable and sank down when we laid on it, plus was very squeaky every time we moved. Only enough hot water for one person. Location was good but next time we will be staying somewhere else.

The place is small, but you can’t beat the location. One thing to keep in mind. The Internet was very slow the first day, 3 down, 2 up. On other days no internet at all. Also no reception on Verizon and Att inside the unit. So that’s inconvenient.

we had a great time and the location was perfect. the apartment could of been cleaner. The baseboards coming out of bedroom looks like someone had spilt coffee down the wall. and there was dust on the mirror and pictures in the bathroom. but overall we loved out time there.

Called and got a voice mail box so I asked to be called back. They never did. Told there was an extra queen bed with bunk beds near by. The queen bed was an uncomfortable sleeper sofa and the bunk beds were in the kitchen. The hot tub has been concrete over. Location was pretty good.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean and accessible. If we needed assistance we contacted management and they fixed the issues we had with our room immediately (stove burner out and light bulb burned out in bathroom). We felt respected and we felt safe. Our kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools. Both pools were clean and clear daily for swimming. As far as location is concerned we were right beside downtown Gatlinburg. It was such a quick, easy walk for all of us. We loved it! We stay here every year with our family, and we have never regretted it for a moment! We will be back next summer using Olde Gatlinburg Rentals once again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: really liked the location of the condo, was able to leave the car and walk into Gatlinburg a few days. However there were a few issues. first the bunk bed in the kitchen. It was hard for our older kids to get into the top bunk as the steps were against the wall. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and would not let Apple devices connect at all. Some Android devices could connect as they could get to the web portal needed to authenticate. The cable for the TVs was sketchy also as the shows would freeze up or go to static several times during a show. left a message with company about these issues and call was never returned.

Reviewer Comments: I rented 3 condos for our company representatives and each room was in some form of disrepair, some worse than others. This particular unit has mold throughout the vents so we turned off the air. The bathroom has a drop ceiling, which is a breeding ground for moisture and every time you open the door the ceiling raises up. The walls are thin - from hearing our neighbors use the bathroom (pretended it was a water fall) to the pitter-patter of all the feet we were grateful the other rooms were not continuously occupied. The bed was not comfortable and there was ONE fork. Furniture is worn and dirty. The cable went out on day one and was fixed day 3. The staff is impossible to reach via phone.
Of the other units rented one had mold in the coffee maker because no one ever cleaned out the filter and ALL the dishes were filthy along with the furniture. And, one unit had paint/wallpaper peeling off the walls. The filthy furniture seems to be a very consistent theme.

Reviewer Comments: Upon entering first thing we notice was the furniture was filthy, the recliner looked horrible dirty, the sofa was very dated and dirty smelled my clothes smelled if I sat on it not to mention there was no support you went straight to the bottom which was not comfortable.. The bedding also smelled awful lets talk about those aweful flat and smelly pillows. The stovehad tin foil on burners instead of buying new burners pans/ The outside pool was dirty, cold, no hot tub. The indoor pool concrete was terrible on the feet. The outside was dirty steps concrete, parking was awful there was dead bird in parking lot by handicap spot there is not enough handicap spots. BTW you could not walk on the floors without socks getting dirty, Do not believe they mop. With the covid you could do much better. Glad we brought toliet paper Never again will we stay here.
