Wonderful Italy Suites

It was a pleasure stay! We were worried about the entrance to the accommodation since other reviews said it was a difficulty, however, we didn’t experience any issues, everything worked as described in the email. The accommodators responded to every question via Wattsapp. A beach is 15 minute walk, city center is also really close, so the location worked greatly for us!

Few things in the kitchen were missing, like paper towels, salt or a container for fruit (to take to the beach with you). The towels were so smelly, I don’t think any washing gel was used while washing.

The room was big, nic, very modern, comfortable, everything was cleane. I like garbage separation. Was walking fistance to many points of interest. Bus and train just at the corner. Good contact either the jest.

No that i did not like , but i am not familiar with that kind of cooking plate. Instraction is necessary. I do not feel comfortable to send my personal information ( passport throught internet.

It is spacious, bright and tidy, and the indoor facilities are well equipped. The surrounding environment and geographical location are favourable.

Improve the check-in introduction

I have mixed emotions about this accomodation. The room was just as shown online and met our expectations fully. As new, spotlessly clean and cared for, light and bright with a balcony. Tasteful, quality bedding, and decor. Excellent location close to the train station, and easy walking distance to Ortigia where all the restaurants, bars, shops, sights and history are. However, that was all once I was IN the accomodation. There lies the problem. This establishment is entirely hands-off approach, even extending to problems with on-line check-in and problems getting in to the apartments. I finished the online form details but the system did not progress to the next screen, even though it said I had completed all required information. Nothing I did would change that so I messaged the host on the number supplied but got no response. I messaged again several times over the next 24hours meanwhile becoming incresingly stressed about what would happen at Syracuse when we arrived on the train from Taormina. There are 4 hurdles to thro to enter ones apartment. This technology is all well and good if it all works or if there is adequate back-up in the case of a problem like ours. There is no reception nor any staff at all there in the 4 days of our stay. My efforts to seek help went unanswered as well. Finally, with no other options, we approached a nearby hostel who had already heard of similar issues at Wonderful Italy Suites. Nevertheless, they agreed to help us. The manager of the hostel phoned Booking.com himself, and finally we were put through to someone at Wonderful Italy, who said we had not paid the 5 euros city tax, and so did not receive any key codes to enter. There was no acknowledgement of my emails & msgs to the host&Booking.com over 24 hrs. They took no responsibility whatsoever. However once they sent me a link to pay the 5 euros which I did and we then received keycode and could enter. We had no further problems in 4 days.

We didnot receive any apology or even acknowledgemet of the lack of customer service. This is the issue; we were delighted by the room but had lost 3 hours by this time & had 24 hrs of stress & worry. Interestingly, the next day, an elderly German couple in their 80s could not enter their block of apartments on the right side of 4th floor. The system would not accept their code and they were very distressed. We were leaving from our block of apts on the left side so tried to help them. Nothing would work. Eventually, they rang again for help and I spoke for them since they did not have great English. Eventually, I was put on to a very surley man who barely understood the issue, and was totally hopeless in resolving it. He remotely opened the entry door for the left block of apartments, but the Germans' room was in the right block of apts. No matter what I said he kept telling them to go into the left block (rooms 1-6)and try from there!! But their room was number 7 in the right block. He could not understand and was obviously not familiar with the layout of these 2 blocks of aprts on the 4th floor. His English was not adequate and he would not pass me to someone else. More than 2 hours went by, and the elderly couple in their 80s were still stranded. The situation was onlysolved when finally another guest whose room was in the right block, arrived home and let the couple in to the entry area of the right block, and from there, they tried their key code next to the key box and it sprang open and they got their keys! It was only sheer luck that those people arrived home. They were very grateful to uThis is outrageous behaviour from the management and total disrespect of their guests who like us, had travelled a long way. It is ironic that then once inside, we were all very happy with our rooms. Well it is no good having a lovely room if you can't get in to it!
