Guests enter the cottage through large sun porch which a great place to keep outdoor clothing and equipment, and also leads directly into the shower room. The open plan living room/kitchen is bright and airy, and the kitchen area is fitted with good quality appliances and has everything you will need to prepare a special meal or full Scottish breakfast. The living area is well-presented with comfortable furnishings and has an open fire, ideal for those cooler days. A good place for a celebration meal and for everyone to sit around the table and plan the next day’s adventures, the dining room looks over the front garden and has views to the hills beyond. On the first floor is a family bathroom and three lovingly furnished bedrooms. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and offers great views over the surrounding area.

There is garden furniture in both the front and back gardens so guests are able to find a sunny spot at any time of day, ideal for an impromptu barbecue or relaxing with a book and admiring the surroundings. Directly from the garden guests can follow the path to the River Lyon through the countryside.

For guests who enjoy exploring the area on foot or by bike there are lots of established footpaths, quiet roads and cycle paths available from the cottage. There are outdoor activities to suit all tastes with mountains to climb, white water rafting, mountain bike trails, horse riding and golf courses all nearby. Loch Tay and Kenmore are well worth a visit and offer good places to eat, boat trips on the loch (in season) and a loch beach. The Scottish Crannog Centre on the shore shows you how we lived 2500 years ago and is one of Scotland’s top heritage sites. Aberfeldy can be reached within a 15-minute drive and is a popular destination with a good selection for places to eat, local shops, galleries, community cinema, book shop and walks along the River Tay. Dewars Whisky Distillery offers tours and you can sample some of their produce. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This was by far the best maintained VRBO rental I've ever stayed in. The kitchen was well stocked with tools, the beds were warm and comfortable, and the house was spotlessly clean. Only salt and pepper are provided in the pantry but there is an herb garden at the door. The location is rural with views of the valley and is peaceful. Karen was immediately available via phone when I had questions about finding the house and key. Entry is via a lock box so once you've worked out where that is and which house this is in the small row of about 4 houses, it's easy to check in.

The Ardchoille Cottage was delightful for us to holiday in -- especially now with their beautifully updated kitchen and baths! Most luxurious! So well equipped for us to prepare and lay the table for our family's Thanksgiving feast. The highlands and the River Lyon were beautiful to walk about and the easy access to the quaint and well stocked village of Aberfeldy was appreciated.

Very quiet place and if that's what you need, then this is the place.

Very quiet place and if that's what you need, then this is the place. It is very self-contained, but I would say that to fit 6 in might be a bit of a squeeze in the evening as there isn't enough furniture to sit comfortably. (Two seater settee and two chairs). There are 3 bedrooms. However, it is well equipped and there is parking for two cars, just! There is not a lot within walking distance from the property, but it is well situated if you want to drive to local places, we visited Perth, Aberfeldy, Blair Castle and a variety of lovely little towns.
