We really enjoyed our stay at Mont des Cats. The house was very comfortable, spacious and light, perfect for a relaxing weekend. Lots to see too within easy driving distance. Already thinking about another visit soon.

What a perfect spot to base ourselves from. Many, many trips here and there, both in France but also Belgium, with the House at Mont des Cats being a perfect place to return to at the end of each day. We were welcomed warmly by Cynthia and the language barrier was no problem - the wonders of translator apps! We can’t recommend this place highly enough and so glad we stumbled upon it, whilst planning our trip to retrace some family history.

Stunning House in Amazing Location

Stunning House in Amazing Location

We've rented many houses in France in the past 7 or 8 years and this is easily one of the best. The location is perfect for exploring the area and you are an easy drive to places like Bruuges, Ghent and even Brussels is only 90 minutes away. The house itself is very comfortable and they have provided just about everything you need. Although the house has 3 bedrooms, it should be noted that there is only one toilet. The master bedroom has a shower and sink and there is another bathroom with a tub and sink shared with the other two bedrooms. Just something you might want to take into consideration if there is a larger group. The house is on a remote dead end road and you don't get any traffic other than people walking to the adjacent Abbey. There were numerous times we saw people stop to look at the house and several made comments on how beautiful it was. The person who meets you is very nice and helpful, but I don't think she speaks English. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with and the overall booking process was easy. The only small thing that could be improved is the outdoor dining furniture. Other than that I highly recommend this location. We will definitely be making a return visit one day!

Maison idéalement située pour des promenades ainsi que proche des axes routiers. Beaucoup d'activités de découvertes à moins d'une heure de route. La maison est située dans une impasse extrêmement calme dans un écrin de verdure.

Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse aux Monts des Cats. La réception était bonne, avec une explication claire. La maison est propre, spacieuse, meublée de façon moderne et entièrement équipée. Nous nous sommes sentis complètement chez nous là-bas. Nous avons trouvé les matelas un peu durs, mais c'est une question de goût. Veuillez noter que la douche est directement reliée à l'une des chambres. Mais ce n'était pas un problème pour nous en tant que famille. De plus, il y a une baignoire avec pommeau de douche dans la salle de bain. L'emplacement de la maison est très calme, avec seulement quelques marcheurs, coureurs et cyclistes devant le portail. Et il y a de nombreux meubles de jardin pour s'asseoir sur la terrasse et dans le jardin. De la maison, vous pouvez profiter de toutes sortes de promenades à travers les magnifiques environs immédiats et le long de l'abbaye. Et Godewaersvelde est idéalement situé pour visiter toutes sortes de lieux: Lille, La Piscine à Roubaix, Louvre-Lens, Cassel, Ypres, Diksmuiden et certainement aussi la côte (Les deux caps et bien sûr la belle plage de Bray-Dunes). En bref, un endroit où revenir.
