A good centrally located flat for a short stay.

Central location. Friendly reception. Great powerful spacious shower. Well configured rooms, with a homely feel. Well equipped. Big fridge freezer, 2 Smart TV’s. Private. Generally very quiet as owners are in bed by 9pm, and any noise prior to that is sporadic and muffled.

As it is a basement flat it is quite dark and lights need to be kept on during the day. There is little improvement to this even on sunny days. If you intend to be out most of the day this however should not be too problematic. Some aspects of the flat could do with updating. Minor cleaning issues, eg. the occasional missed pet hairs, and the front door and window surroundings could be wiped down. Other than that all else is clean to a good standard.

A cosy, well-equipped basement flat located 10mins from shops, Torre Abbey and sea front.

Flat was very central to both the shops and sea front (10mins) there is also a bus that runs from a stop near the property to the shops and the harbour side. The basement flat belongs to the Dave & Jan who live in the remainder of the Georgian town house. Apart from greeting us when we arrived and saying goodbye at the end of our week with them, they didn’t encroach on our space and we came & went through a side gate. There is a precious car space hidden from the road that is to the front of the building, secured by a high gate. The very cosy, warm flat met all our needs. The double bed was very comfortable with a large walk in room for luggage and clothes. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped and spotless, with a full size fridge freezer, as well as usual appliances. The owners had laid out a little Xmas decorated table as well as an Xmas tree in the lounge which is open plan. A bottle of fizz & box of biscuits had been left for us too as well complementary tea/coffee. The bathroom was well laid out, with a double sink (his & hers!) and a powerful shower with no leaking! A washing machine was in the bathroom in a cupboard which we used a couple of times and dried items on a clothes airer. We watched a lot of TV as over Xmas and reception was excellent better than at home. WiFi was excellent too. We had a small dog with us, and the garden that we had access to was a good size, but we couldn’t take her off the lead, as she is a very active Jack Russell and we couldn’t trust that she would leap over the high wall! But I’m sure more calmer dogs would be fine. She had a walk twice a day around the Torre Abbey area. It would be lovely to return in the summer months and experience the flat and Torquay again.

Very welcoming hosts. Immaculate property. Lovely private garden with comfy furniture to sit and a lovely seating area for 2 to eat outside. Best bed we've ever slept so, so comfortable. Harbour and beach easy walking distance.

Outstanding property, David and Janet were excellent hosts, gave us great hints and tips about the local area. Location very good, only 10 mins walk to beach or town centre. Very clean, great secure garden for our dog and very secure parking, highly recommend

Beautiful Torquay stay

The host's were both very accommodating, thourough with explaining everything we needed to know, hospitable and so friendly, very beautiful people. The apartment itself, very nice and spacious with everything you need. The most well equipped kitchen I've ever come across and I am a very frequent traveller! Location was great, around a 12min walk to the beach and shops in easy reach. The garden was such a beautiful space to relax in with the added extras of rattan furniture and sun loungers. The hosts have gone through a lot of effort with this accomodation, especially with the extra touches. It's clear to see they want to give the best experience for their guests. Credit to them as its wonderfully designed, me and my husband were overall exceptionally happy with the stay!

I am a light sleeper so the only downside for me was I'd wake up to creaking sounds coming from above as this is a basement apartment.
