Loved the personal touches and the wrapped gifts inside! Very cosy lodge, clean and tidy. It's a shame the weather wasn't on our side but we would love to revisit in the Summer so we could see more of the surroundings :) had everything you could need inside the lodge and looked well cared for! Lots of room in the kitchen/sitting area. Beds were super comfy!

It's a shame the access information wasn't readily available. I turned up in the dark with a baby in tow and we were unable to get through the red barrier on arrival due to not having the fob. Turns out you need to park up and walk to the lodge to get the fob in order to get your car close. It's also tricky to locate the lodge upon arrival as the exact location doesn't populate on maps. (It probably didn't help that it was pitch black when we got there!). I know the owner can't help with the access/fob issue but would have been handy to know in advance as reception was closed. It also makes it difficult if using multiple cars etc and only one fob. The decking also gets super slippery in the colder/wet weather! It was a big hazard for us, especially carrying a baby etc. not sure if this can be gritted? Only other problem we faced was trying to set up travel cot as not much space in the bedrooms (plenty in the living area but we had our dog with us so unable to leave our baby to sleep in the same room)!

Everything, I’m thinking of downsizing to a lodge, very comfy and manageable. Highly recommend

The location, unit size and the kitchen having almost everything you could need.

Finding out that despite the listing stating the pool was available, it was £80 for a family of 4 for 3 days. I have stayed in park homes before, let privately, and still have had free access to the pool. I had told my children they would be able to swim every day if they wished, and it is always nice to have a backup plan in case of poor weather. Also, I accept that the lodge is pet friendly and we do not have any fur pets but the whole lodge was full of a mix of air fresheners and room fragrances., I have a very poor sense of smell yet found it very uncomfortable. My partner who has a nose like a bloodhound said he could smell both the pet smell and the air fragrances. Also, less of an issue but it was also not mentioned that the fob needed to open the gate was at the lodge, we were directed a different way round where the gate was open but if this had not been the case I would have not liked having to walk to the lodge for the key to then have to go back and let the family through.
