We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, old farmhouse! The house has been tastefully renovated, retaining lots of the original charm and features, but with all the modern conveniences and luxuries. The setting is very peaceful and tranquil. We loved being able to swim in the lake and drive to Ganges in just a few minutes. Ted is a very gracious and responsive host. I hope we will have the chance to come back someday!

We were 2 families that stayed here for 3 nights in the summer and we all really enjoyed it. The house is beautiful and there was plenty of space for everyone. The property is very quiet and perfect for a getaway from the city. Ted was prompt with our questions and attentive to our needs.

The pictures don’t do it justice. Beautifully restored farmhouse. Great for multiple families. Layout allows for privacy. Great for kids. Wonderful outside space with trampoline and badminton/volleyball area. Lots of great hangout places in and out of the house.

We loved our time at the farmhouse. Lots of room for everyone and comfortable in every regard. The outdoor space is great for exploring with fruit trees, trampoline, badminton net, and trails nearby. Surrounded by crickets, stars, and the wind in the trees at night. Couldn't be better.

My family and friends had a great time during out ten day stay. The house was clean and well-equipped. The photos do not do it justice, it is a beautiful home. We loved our time there and will never forget the memories we created! The owners were easy to deal with and very responsive.

If anything, the pictures do not do this very special property justice. A perfect retreat for large groups. We were seven people and two bedrooms were left unclaimed. The master suite on the top floor with kingsize bed, beautiful light, pedestal tub and TV room was super nice. (No ping pong table as in the pics but new and very comfy furniture in the TV room.) Living room also a great hang-out spot, as well as the porch and the picnic table under the willow. We loved playing badminton and hiking Channel Ridge Trails (trailhead is just a short walk up the road). Kitchen is well-equipped. Great collection of records and books to peruse. Perfect place to unplug and spend time with family.

Spotless old beautiful farmhouse. We were ages 6 months to 61.....3 generations....and stayed 4 nights...family get-together, 10 of us. Plenty of room and stocked with an outstanding selection of music and books, not to mention the games and musical instruments. Very well stocked kitchen and lots of little comfort items throughout the house. A great deal of thought and care obviously went into this rental. This was an amazing opportunity for our family to connect and spend time together without worrying about the toddlers running out onto a busy road. They played for hours in the yard...a new experience for them to be so free...and often naked! Things to note: - with 3 levels, you are climbing stairs quite a bit, especially with children - due to the (gorgeous) wood plank floors, the noise carries well throughout the house - large assortment of rooms and beds to choose from which came in very handy when considering crying babies at night - the birding is amazing!!! - great swimming spot 5 minutes away at St. Mary's Lake...we swam often All in all, we had a fantastic time...our favorite spot being the outside covered deck where we spent hours playing Scrabble, playing a guitar, listening to music, reading, or just hanging out.

We enjoyed 4 days at this lovely restored farmhouse near Fernwood. The house was well appointed with good instructions about the house and how to access wireless etc. Ted is a gracious unobtrusive host that made our stay very easy. We look forward to recommending this property to our discerning friends.

If you are looking for a rustic farmhouse with modern updates, look no further! Our kids enjoyed the pool table & trampoline. We enjoyed relaxing by listening to classics on the record player and searching through the vast amounts of literature in bookshelves throughout the house. Ted, the owner, happen to be staying with his family in the cabin, also located on the property. This was helpful when a couple of unpredictable issues came up. He was so quick to come and resolve them and was very kind. Thanks again, Ted!

Our two families had a fantastic time on Saltspring Island. The location of the farmhouse was very convenient to everything on the island (especially St. Marys Lake, Ganges, and Long Harbour). However, everything is convenient to get to on this island! The farmhouse was clean and well maintained, and the decor, furniture, and appliances were surprisingly modern.The location, and activities available on the property brought our families closer together. The kids spent quite a bit of time on the trampoline, and we all had a blast playing badminton and table tennis. Watched the meteor shower lying on the trampoline, so clear that I could see the outline of the milky way, and I could even get a hint of the andromeda galaxy with the host's binoculars. The kids played the grand piano, the epiphone guitar and the uke. We had nice dinners in the kitchen and at the upstairs dining table, talking for hours in the evening. Used Netflix and Apple TV to watch movies late into the night. Took walks with the dogs and picked a lot of blackberries along the way. Hope to be back very soon.Just a side note: There is only one shower. But, what a nice shower!
