Lovely pod stay with great views and easy access to the western fells of the Lake District.

Good heating and hot water, shame about the poor sleeping experience.

Nice to have fresh milk in fridge, tea, coffee & biscuits on arrival. We got what we paid for. Lovely location. Very organised, clean and tidy site that offered recycling facilities. Friendly site wardens. Free Wifi was great.

Incorrect notice displayed. Gas Safety Certificate on display was out of date. After some searching we found an up to date certificate that had been completed 6 months ago, which included 2 recommendations that had not been carried out 1. Replace the Carbon Monoxide Alarm. It was out of date. 2. Gas ring on the cooker not working, it was still not working. For info, the hoses were out of date on the gas bottles (made in 2019).The mattresses on all 3 beds were way past their best. You could feel the springs. Very uncomfortable. Shower control valve had come away from the unit. No scales to weigh dry food. Upholstery could do with a clean.

Issues with vehicles. It says reservation is not required but I recommend sorting parking before arrival. Especially if you have a van. Never been accused of potentially emptying a house into a van before.

Couldn’t fault it, would definitely stay again.

Lovely site in a beautiful setting. The caravan was modern and to a high standard. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Lovely Mountain View’s with a donkey field which you are free to walk in 100yards from the property. We were lucky to have the fighter jets fly over on their training runs a couple of times during our stay which was a real highlight.

Location is excellent and such a pretty location. Spacious Irt with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean, lovely little touches like milk in the fridge and condiments really make a different in self catering accommodation. Modern and super friendly couple Bruce and Sandy looking after the site. Responsive emails from Rachel.

mattresses are a little uncomfortable but 100% manageable for a weekend trip.

Parkgate farm - mecklin caravan

Location was fab, quiet and relaxing. Caravan was clean and had pretty much everything you needed.

Construction work is ongoing on the site and the builders were using stihl saws etc from 8 in the morning

Great location for hiking in Wasdale area (ie Scafell Pike). Fabulous view! Donkeys! Lovely mobile home! Wifi worked well (a priority for my teens). A football pitch.

Excellent location, close to main road. Easy access to England's highest mountain Scafell Pike :) , obviously conquered. As well as to Muncaster Castle. A must-see, the entrance fees are staggering but well worth it. Beautiful live show of cheetahs, hawks, owls, and eagles. Saturdays and Sundays are not enough to see everything, but the starting point is great with access to a donkey farm, a beautiful landscape of mountains, and forest paths. On foot, you can walk up to Irton Pike.The perfect place for kids, my 10 and 16 year olds.

It would be nice if someone checked that the heating thermostat was working before the visit, as the night-time temperatures in April are not very spoiling ;)

Brilliant! The caravan we stayed in was great, like a home from home stay

What an amazing stay, views were brilliant had such an enjoyable stay. Staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful with different things. Facilities I couldn’t fault, I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Lovely romantic stay

We had a wonderful long weekend here and it was such a lovely place to stay. Brilliantly clean and well maintained caravan. Absolutely gorgeous location near amenities and long walks all with lovely views. Very quiet and perfect for a romantic holiday.

A picturesque place with personalized service and two heavenly nights in a cozy modern cabin

The estate was beautiful, peaceful and clean. The owners were very helpful , the husband actually came to pick us up from another place we had stayed in, when roads were closed and even took us to the grocery store! He refused to charge us for this help!
