Room was very clean and comfortable, overlooking the quay running up to the Custom House, and it was quiet at night. The bathroom had modern fittings and everything you needed. We had shared tapas for our evening meal which was delicious. It is very convenient for the centre of town if you were attending a show or event.
Parking is an issue, which the website was up front about, a long walk with a suitcase if you find walking difficult and a nuisance if you forget something in your car.
Blackout blinds would have been our preference, to cut out the street lighting. The radiators had been turned off on our arrival and we had to move furniture to turn the thermostats up, as the room was cold. An open bottle of water was left over from the previous guests.
Not a huge choice of breakfast foods, probably due to small number of guests staying, no fruit juice offered and we had to go and find someone to take our hot food order.
With a few tweaks this would have earned excellent scores all round.

It was very warm!
Bathroom needs updating.
Breakfast was very poor, no full English available with the breakfast included as advertised.

The position overlooking the old harbour and river. The helpfulness of the staff. The fact that the restaurant is open every evening.
The parking.Last time we stayed ,we ended up being fined .This time the pay and display refused to accept cash and the parking app wouldn’t download onto neither my phone nor my tablet.Eventually the hotel reception helped with the download of the parking app, but only upon accessing the hotels wi-fi.Why can’t the hotel provide some off street parking or come to some arrangement with the council ?
The breakfast was poor.Poor choice, poor quality (Homepride white bread for toast) and only some sausage and bacon as the hot part of the meal.At 10am the hotel provides a proper breakfast choice for outside visitors but this isn’t available to people staying at the hotel. There was also no hot food for vegetarians.

The only savings grace was the staff who were all very friendly and helpful. However, the place needs proper managing and some refurbishment.
Too many issues...
1. Only parking is on parking meters
2. Initial room I was allocated was a nice room but stank of marijuana. We were offered another room but it was not as good and had no shower.
3 the bath in the new room ran ice cold after a while.
4. The phone has no option to call reception (I had to keep going up and down the 3 floors to report problems.)
5. Although I had purchased a 'good breakfast '. The first thing I was told on sitting down was there was no option of a full English unless I waited until 10am and paid extra. After complaining we were given the option of a proper breakfast.
6. Carpets were dirty in the hallway and in our room nailed down with exposed nails.
7. The place desperately needs refurbishment.

Location was excellent and room overlooked the water. Very quiet and bed was comfortable. Had a meal in the hotel - Food was outstanding and atmosphere fab. Staff were very busy all night but were attentive to our needs as best as they could.
For the price of the room we were surprised that there was no coffee machine in the room (which is pretty standard nowadays) just a kettle and sachets. Bathroom needed a bit of tlc too as some grouting was cracked around the toilet in an otherwise clean and spacious bathroom.

The property was absolutely beautiful. Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable and welcoming with a lovely view over the river. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, served in lovely surroundings. I have already recommended it to colleagues and will definitely stay again when I am next in the area.
The room was perhaps a little lived in, but it was spotlessly clean, had a charming style and was very comfortable.

The shower was very weak.
The breakfast only had one vegan option.

Lovely staff and a wonderful historied building. We had the wonderful Captains Suite complete with freestanding bath and views over the estuary. A good breakfast selection that the guys were able to organise for us at short notice. As always it's the details that count and Bank House have these nailed, with things like a little local history and sights booklet that they had put together themselves

Beautiful old building in good location
Parking is not straightforward and the longish walk down the quay to the "long stay" car park in pouring rain and strong wind was not enjoyable
7.0 / 10.0
Beautiful building, good position ( apart from parking), friendly staff ( apart from not explaining parking), good food.
Parking was not explained properly so we got a fine. Make sure you get a ticket for the free hour as well as any paid time. The staff should have made this clear.

Beautiful building. It is old so do not expect a lift, anything level or straight. Room (Captain’s) was vast, comfortable and well appointed. Traditional slightly shabby furniture but that added to the considerable charm. Gorgeous curtains. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Well stocked bar. Good breakfast.
Dinner was average/poor. Descriptions and prices promised better. TBF the hotel had a big party in and seemed short staffed but that showed in our food. Lack of care as it could have been so much better. Lots of regulars so perhaps just an off day. Cooked breakfast was much better.

Perfect location in the old town and very close to the Corn Exchange theatre. Very quirky and full of history! Excellent breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff!
No parking at the hotel but lots of options close by.

Beautiful building rooms well appointed had everything needed.
As I stayed in the summer the blinds weren’t that good let in the early morning sun just a little too early.

Location great. Bedroom comfortable though small.
Black stains in bathroom need attention. Door handle missing screws. Bit of TLC required.

Fantastic location but it wasn't booked with breakfast, we didn't eat there but it looked good.
This is a fantastic hotel but our room was looking a bit tired. We went out Wednesday evening and got back to the hotel at about 10.30, all the staff had gone home and we let ourselves back in using a key they had provided which is fine, they told us that would happen, but it would have been nice to have a drink or two at the bar

Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Lovely room and view, beautiful hotel.

The building is stunning and the location is perfect for everything, right by the river, shopping areas, minster etc. The room was basic but fine for a quick stop.
The bathroom was clean but dated. It was mouldy and the seal on the shower screen didn’t work properly so couldn't have a shower without causing a flood. Give breakfast a miss. Staff seemed incredibly busy, too busy, even though we were the only people there. Food was disappointing and prepared without any care.

Got back from theatre at 10.30 pm and bar was closed.Had to charge and take drinks back to our room

Good location. Handsome building. Staff gave us a discount because the shower was not useable.
Room was small. Couldn’t use shower as the water was boiling and could not be made cooler.
Staff agreed to give us complementary breakfasts to compensate for broken shower but we had to ask and they didn’t offer any compensation until we asked for it. Room was dusty and didn’t feel like it had been cleaned thoroughly.

Lovely period property with lots of space and charm. Staff were friendly; rooms were nicely appointed; staff were friendly; comms were great. Had a lovely stay and would stay again.
Lovely property with lots of character. Large spacious room. Breakfast was VERY reasonable and VERY good.

The old bank is well maintained period building, with lovely public rooms, corridors and bedrooms
Noise transfer between rooms in the morning which is to be expected in such an old building

Great facilities, right on the waterfront with a lovely view, great part of Kings Lynn (near all the shops etc.) but also quite a peaceful location. Coffee machine! Sachets of Cadbury hot chocolate! Biscuits replenished daily! Clean, organised, friendly, characterful. Information about the history of the hotel was also provided, along with information on things to do and see, and some books and magazines. They really went the extra mile.
Bathroom door wasn't very blind friendly for my wife (it wouldn't stay open by itself and was a hazard) and the hot water was scolding, leading to a minor incident. These are absolute nit-picks. They didn't impact our stay negatively, but wanted to point out something, as every place can be improved in some fashion.

Location was very convenient. Room was comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good.. The hotel is nice and quiet. Lovely riverside view from the window.
The en suite was a little tired. But otherwise no problems.

Gentleman on check in really welcoming and helpful
Bed comfy
Good location
Not a personable experience
Checked in early (collected key) as attending an event locally, due to no parking we asked if we could leave luggage with them to put in the room. Luggage wasn’t in room when we arrived back and was left unsecured in the hotel reception
Carpet held down with tacs
Curtains didn’t close fully and thin letting loads of light in
Breakfast selection very poor and cooked breakfast arrived lukewarm, no choice of toast (white or brown) you get what your given.
During breakfast or check out no one asked ‘how is everything’
Basic hospitality missing which is a shame as a beautiful building which potential to be 5* experience.
Definitely not worth what was paid but appreciate rates were hiked up due to event locally.

The hotel is beautiful, and very well looked after. The room was up to standard and great value. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and friendly.
A menu with prices in the rooms would be useful. The breakfast (additional charge) wasn't quite up to expectations. Very nice, but not real orange juice, weak coffee which you had to ask for refills of, and paper napkins. I was also a bit surprised that there is no overnight staffing at this level, but fortunately I didn't require any help overnight.

It was in a great location in the centre of town and next to the river. The room was comfortable, the water hot, and the tv and wifi effective. New biscuits supplied each day. No pressure to pay until I checked out.
I had to ask for toilet paper when I arrived, but I’m sure that was an oversight.

The staff were really helpful. Harry who greeted us when we arrived was really friendly and helpful. Later, after we had checked in, we had a lovely chat about the area and he was very knowledgeable about history of area etc. Very interesting. We would definitely stay there again.
nothing negative to say

Beautiful historic building in a fantastic location. Absolutely stunning. We had our evening meal in the hotel which was very delicious. The menu was good with a nice variety
Parking was a bit of a trek as there was no long stay parking near the hotel. It was a pleasant walk from the car park however

I had an early start , had to leave for a business meeting, so had only a very simple breakfast, but was aware of the 'spread' availability of more, so next time.
The seagulls were looking after their young, so very noisy most of the night! But that's the difference between City and Seaside, so ok.

Location
Booking.com clearly advertised super king size bed but Bank House only has King Size.
Room was too hot, fan was too weak, no air conditioning and windows were hard to open and close. The whole property needs air conditioning
