About this house rental

The backyard of this home will bring you to a sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean, with miles of white sandy beaches to walk. A seal colony is just down the beach. This is a pet-friendly four-bedroom home. Please note that there is no direct ocean view from the house, but a few steps and you have an amazing view!

Any pets are $50.00 extra, per pet for the entire stay.

Waldport is located just 15 minutes south of Newport and 15 minutes north of Yachats. Too many activities to list, but feel free to ask us about local attractions. Crabbing rings are provided and there is a free crabbing dock in Waldport. There is so much stuff to do, you won't forget this vacation soon!

The location of this house really is spectacular. It's nicely furnished and fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and pleasant stay. The house is full of nice toys and great games. It also has built-in safety guards at the stairs to protect your little ones.

Note: Check-in is at 4PM and all guests must be out of the home no later than 11AM on the last day of their stay.

Great house! Incredible location, really great place to stay for families with kids. Really happy that there were built in baby gates at the top of both stairs. Unfortunately, lots of little things in the house were broken or not upkept. One microwave had a cardboard out of order sign on it, the other had the handle broken off. The drain stop in the master bath didnt work properly, the fridge was flashing that the water filter needed to be replaced etc etc. Nothing major, but enough things that added up to notice. Overall, nice house, very clean, great location. Would definitely stay here again.

The hosts can be very hard to get a hold of! Make sure you contact them for the code within the week prior to your stay! Claudia had given me the code well prior to that and by the day of our stay, the code had been changed. I tried contacting her repeatedly by test, messaging and calling with response. It turns out she was out of the country and didn't get back to me until the next day. Fortunately we were able to access a list with other contacts and get the code so we were able to get into the house and didn't have to stay the night in a hotel. The person we were able to contact also lives overseas, apparently. We also ran out of toilet paper (we were given 4 rolls for 7 people for a 6 night stay) and it took about 36 hours to get a response, by which time we were checking out. Overall the house is very spacious, it is adequately kept and clean, though very obviously a rental (poor paint job, things are moderately worn).The stopper for the tub in the primary bath did not seal so we could not use it for baths, so don't plan on soaking there. There are no screens on the windows and since it was quite warm we needed to keep them open which meant we got some moths and other bugs flying around the house. The house also has drain flies, though not too many. The beach itself is great, we stay at Bayshore nearly every year and keep coming back for the beach in combination with the pool, as well as easy access to crabbing (though not good this year).

Unfortunately, for the price we paid, I hoped for better. There were issues with the house not being “turned over” from last guest and the host was very kind and responsive. Still so disappointing to walk into a mess on your vacation. One bedroom was different than the booking and not what we planned for. The heating situation is rough during the winter. Loud wall heater in the living room or no heat are your options. Multiple light bulbs out or missing. I almost didn’t write a review because the host was so kind and the location was so great, but with all the fees and total cost, it was not worth it.

We want to come back and stay longer. Comfortable homey , great location with an awesome kitchen for cooking the catch from the sea on our boating adventures. Bring shamppoh, bar soap for showers. The hose is sticked with all the equipment you need for cooking, relaxing, and playing on the beach. Beds comfy.

We loved the location and all the room in the house. It's bigger than it appears in the listing. There was a great selection of games and toys for our kids and our dog. Access to the beach was fantastic. The house does show a little wear and tear, especially the exterior, but nothing that made our stay anything less than comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

This property was perfect for a family with little ones as well as teenagers. The playroom was such fun for the young kids to discover. There is plenty of room for older kids to flop on the couch with a book or device. Lots of beds, well stocked kitchen, lovely large table for all of us to gather around and the ocean is just steps away. Love this house!

This place has a lot of potential, but is not taken care of and not furnished as advertised: -The furniture does not match the postings, every room is different -The carpet is worn out and dirty -There are stains on the couches -The whole place feels dirty -Mismatched old sheets -There was sand between the sheets in our son's bed -The kitchen utensils were old and looked questionable -There were two different colored liquid spills on the cooktop, it clearly wasn't clean -Microwave smells of burnt popcorn -The back outdoor patio is littered with stuff, empty cans, scattered broken plastic toys, the grill with no lid, grill grate laying half buried in the sand, grilling utensil laying on the ground -There are no fires allowed near the house, yet there was left over burnt wood scattered in the back yard -The paint on the house is horribly peeling and looks terrible These may sound nitpicky to some, but considering the amount we paid, this place is simply way overpriced. The location has so much potential, and the house is very large, it just hasn't been taken care of. This is by far the worse vacation home we have ever stayed at, the worse experience we have had with VRBO and is significantly overpriced. We don't usually leave reviews, especially not bad reviews, but this needed to be shared.

We loved our stay! The kids (6, 4, and 2) had a blast with the toys and loved the bunk beds. Being able to step out onto the sand was fabulous and we’d definitely stay again.

We had a great time, it was a chance to gather and celebrate and relax. We visited during the King Tides and were able to enjoy them we were located in the perfect spot, you could go north to Depot Bay or South to Yachats to see the tides. This house could use a bit of maintenance on the outside (paint). But it the inside had all the amenities and space a person would need.

The house is located right in the sand dunes with direct access to the ocean. A short beach walk takes you down to the point, where there are seals and tons of seabirds. The view out the front of the house shows the bay and the bridge. It really is beautiful. Makes me want to move to Waldport.

The location was the best part of this home. Ocean and beach right outside the back door was fabulous. The home is older and beginning to need updates and repairs. Its was clean and spacious for our group of 8. Plenty of kitchen space for large meals and two rooms for games and conversations.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of summer with our daughters, son in-laws and 5 grandchildren- while all under the same roof! Although you don’t see the ocean from the house (as clearly stated in the listing) you are merely steps away, making it an awesome location. The kids loved playing n their own personal sandbox right in the “backyard”! The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and had everything we needed. The house was very “homey”, comfortable and dog friendly!

The biggest thing about this house. It's quite stuffy. No screens on any windows, not much air flow unless you open. The BBQ they have is an old charcoal one. I don't think it's worthy of being sold at good will (the barrel BBQ isn't there even though it is pictured) you ask about it they tell you that's what provided, there isn't a handle on the lid, (like on top of the lid has no handle and they expect you to use it)they still refused to provide a working BBQ, we ended up having to cook hamburgers on the stove with less than quality pans. For the nexnight we refroze our steak to take home since everything was outdated and not stickproff we had to just get papa Murphys as it's difficult to cook for 10pp on 1 pan.The furniture in the house isn't what's pictured almost all of it is different including a giant sectional couch right through the big open living area. On the fridge it says that City zoning only allows 8 occupancy, it's rented out for up to 12.Per it's rooms bed counter. Says there is a room with Queen bed plus 2 sets of bunks (actually one set in that room) kids room supposed to have a full and a bunk set, actually has a full and a loft bed with out the 2nd bunk bed. We choose this place because of it's easy layout advertising. Probably not a place to take 80yr olds as no downstairs rooms or space. I wish I could leave pictures do better justice than my words. At least the kids didn't leave as disappointed as the adults. The beach is accurately close.

The location and property were great. The only reason for the 3 cleanliness was finding two pairs of underwear that were not from us and the bed sheets and blanket in the master had some visible stains. The proximity to the beach was amazing and we would stay here again.

The house was great on many levels. We were a family of multigenerations, grandparents, parents and grandchildren two of whom were graduating from college, OSU and OU. Everyone loved the house. Waldport was great, beautiful beach, relatively few tourists so it was sedate. The beach and dunes were beautiful. A short drive north or south on 101 runs along spectacular rugged coastline. The house is behind a low dune with a simple walk over the sand directly to a large beautiful beach. The house was spacious with a large kitchen and two large living spaces so people could find a quiet place if they wanted. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Windows everywhere so it was very light inside. The kitchen was well stocked with excellent pots and pans, lots of silverware and plates and glasses, all kinds of kitchen tools, corkscrew and wine glasses, nice refrigerator, dishwasher, Mr. Coffee with lots of filters, condiments, cutting surfaces, great knives, everything you would need to cook some great meals. It was obvious that the owner wanted us to have a good time and made everything available we needed. We bought fresh crab in Newport and a great butcher at Oregon Costal Cutters in South Beach just south of Newport for great steaks. There was a farmer’s market in Waldport on Sunday and others all over the place on different days. There was also a supermarket in Waldport as well. Overall, it was great in so many domains. Beautiful house. Everything was clean, furniture well kept and beds were comfy. The kitchen was well equipped to handle our family of 8. Loved the kids play room and the many beach toys for the kids to use. Even had crab pots and clam equipment. The back deck is spacious, with tables, chairs and grill. We loved having all the amenities for the beach. Great communication from Owners/Staff. We enjoyed shopping at the local shops in Waldport and Newport. Endless secluded beaches to walk explore and enjoy. The scenery is spectacular, it really is were the forest meets the sea. Have coffee to the sunrise out of the bay window and have wine for the sunset on the back deck. Would defiantly book a stay again, we had a great time. Mark and Jan

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this oceanfront vaction rental that, despite not having an ocean view, exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the perfect place for our vacation. Located just steps away from the beach, the house was beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated. The owners had clearly put a lot of thought into creating a relaxing and comfortable space for their guests. We immediately felt at home and were impressed by the attention to detail that was evident throughout the property. One of the things we loved most about this rental was its proximity to the beach. It was so convenient to be able to walk out the door and be on the sand within minutes. We spent hours each day lounging on the beach, and watching the waves roll in. It was the perfect location for a relaxing beach vacation. While we didn't have an ocean view from the house itself, we were able to see the water just a few steps outside of the building. We enjoyed spending time on the dunes, which offered sweeping views of the ocean and the surrounding area. It was the perfect place to watch the sunset each evening and take in the beauty of the coastline. The house was also very clean and well-maintained. We appreciated the care that had gone into ensuring that everything was in top condition for our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and appliances we needed to prepare meals, and there were plenty of towels and linens available for our use. The beds were comfortable, and we slept well each night. In addition to the great location and comfortable accommodations, the owners of the rental were incredibly responsive and helpful. They were available to answer any questions we had and provided us with a lot of helpful information about the area. It was clear that they wanted us to have the best possible experience during our stay. Overall, we had an amazing time at this oceanfront house. While we didn't have an ocean view, the proximity to the beach more than made up for it. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation. The care and attention that went into creating this space are evident in every detail, and we can't wait to come back again.

Lots of broken stuff: coffee pot, towel rack in 2nd bath, ice maker, TV (only Netflix, no cable or live TV), computer was ancient & didn't have anything on it, play station, CD player in kitchen, socket in master bdrm sizzled when I plugged in the lamp. No fire pit, old charcoal BBQ. Unresponsive owners.

The house is awesome and located on the sand a short walk over a small dune that separates the house from the beach, Sadly though they don’t maintain this beautiful home well or clean well! the biggest issue I had was my 12 year old found THC gummies, nicotine gum and ky jelly in his room And my 3yo twins found multiple half drank water bottles in the toy bin and under the beds and what was thankful just salt on the play kitchen Needless to say I spent good part of our vacation cleaning, like vacuuming out the dog hair and sand from the couches 😒 And I was really disappointed that the picture shows a wood deck, but actually it’s completely covered with sand! So it’s impossible to keep massive amounts from entering the dinning room making the tile floors slick; also you’ll be sweeping and cleaning that constantly too Front lobby smells like mildew and dog thankful the smell doesn’t carry throughout the house And here’s list of other issues: Back door doesn’t lock with house key so when you’re on the beach you cant lock the house Cabinet hingers are broken in kitchen One of PS3 Remotes didn’t work Ruku barley worked it was so slow in living room No fire alarms Bunk bed room smelled funky Sand has fire remnants all through the back yard, not fun to step on. One broken chair in backyard and old picnic table and gross bbq Bathroom wicker trash cans don’t have bags Master bath doesn’t have working drain plug so you can’t really enjoy the beautiful tub House desperately needs a paint job on the outside But the waves are great and beach was beautiful, would love to see this house cared for as the floor plan is great for large families. And hopefully they find a house keeper the doesn’t leave dangerous stuff for kids to find and actually cleans!

This was an amazing space for our family. The sand is just outside the back door and you can easily watch them play out the back windows. The house has basically 2 connected living rooms, large dining room table, big kitchen with all the equipment needed. It is a great space for people and conversation to spread out. The beds are comfortable.. There are book and toys for the kids. It is great! However, it is not spiffy and unused. This is a house that has been lived in. If you want a fancy ultra clean house, this is not for you.

A little bit of sand on the beds but that's understandable, it's literally a house ON the beach not much to complain about. A small dune to run up to get to the water to jump into the ocean. Out of the rentals that we've stayed in, this house by far was the best. Plenty for everyone to do. Kids room and play room. Sand toys. Beach chairs and so much more. We didn't realize there was a deck in the back until the night before we left sand consumed the deck and possibly stairs but we still had a great time. I would definitely stay in this rental again and a longer stay. By the way the master room is AMAZING and that fridge is super cool! Until next time, to the next adventure!
