We loved this home! The details the owners left were so nice - just the organization, scents, etc. Four of us stayed and it was so comfortable. The home is just a short walk to the Santa Cruz Wharf or the Lighthouse/Surfing Museum. Being next to the ocean was fantastic!

Took my parents to Santa Cruz for the 4th of July weekend and the Cowell Beach House did not disappoint! The location is great, neighborhood is quiet but less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The only small issue we encountered was cleanliness. The utensils were not clean and needed to be rewashed, shower curtain had mold on inside, and sides/behind toilet were unkempt. However, it was still a wonderful experience and none of those issue would prevent me to wanting to stay again. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful space!

I wanted to stay within walking distance to the beach so I didn’t have to park and walk. This was perfectly located. The host provided beach chais, sand toys and towels I appreciated. Also thank you for the laundry detergent I was able to wash our clothing before we left. The only thing missed was a pack of cards and kid friendly games for the evening, I forgot those but the tv and internet made night easy. Thank you.

The location of this property is fabulous, close to Westcliff, a short walk to the Lighthouse and the Wharf. The hosts were very kind and very responsive. It was equipped, however, with aging and not quite clean appliances. The bathroom was tiny and had no towel hooks or places to put toiletries. The beds were okay but the linens were old; they ought to give them all to Goodwill. For the price, I think they could upgrade linens and appliances, replace the uncomfortable living room couch, and spiff up the bathroom.

Perfect location to Cowell St beach and a short walk to the light house. Beautiful safe neighborhood. I left a load of laundry in the dryer, they let me know and we arranged to get my clothes back. Will definitely start again.

I know Santa Cruz fairly well as a former resident, and knew that this property’s neighborhood is perfect for a visitor. It still is. More importantly, I was more than beyond pleased with our hosts’ responsiveness as our plans fell apart but then came back together. Their kindness and flexibility was very impressive. You don’t get that from a corporate property. We are grateful to our hosts for hospitality at an amazing location where it can be hard to find a good property!

This beach duplex is a little bit funky in a cool beach town kind of way and bigger than it looks in the listing. Despite all the crowds in Santa Cruz - this is a nice hideaway. We all found the mattresses a bit firm but agreed it was the most comfy couch we’ve had a VRBO!

What a great place to stay for a family trip! Walking distance to beach and boardwalk. Easy access to anything you want to do in Santa Cruz! The house accommodated my family of 4 and we utilized the backyard for barbecue dinners. The host responded immediately when we needed them and addressed concerns quickly. The house wasn't as clean as I expected it to be when we got there, but the host made efforts to rectify that right away. We would stay here again!

The location was unbelievable... walkable restaurants, surfing, beach, shops, and parks. There were 4 of us here and found the living room and kitchen sizable for all of us comfortably. The kitchen was nice and had all the basics except dishwasher (and not enough silverware). The master bedroom was a little small but the second bedroom was good. There were plenty of towels and beach chairs to enjoy watching the surfers. Overall, I would recommend this unit and would come again.
