Lighthouse Field, 1 Block to Beach, Steamer Lane, Wharf

We will definitely stay here again! We were in Santa Cruz for a surf event at Steamer Lane- the location was great, it was a short easy walk to Steamer Lane and the coffee shop nearby. Also close to downtown Santa Cruz. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend.

Awesome location for kids/pets being so close to the beach. Coffee shops and a little snack shack within walking distance as well as a dog beach. Place was super clean and had all items to get our 5-day stay kicked off (paper towels, toilet paper, tea, etc.) The beds were SO cozy and we came from a memory foam king size at home. Slept super good! It’s a bit of a wonky “remodel” which will probably bother fellow ADHD/OCD people! Owners seem to have split their main house and turned part of it into a townhome with some structural “quirks”. We booked “entire home” for a reason and were really not happy with the amount of money we paid only to find out we shared multiple walls with others and could hear their movements and conversations. The listing reflects “entire home” and townhome is mentioned only one time in the description so it’s easy to miss. Also, the property really shouldn’t be listed as “pet friendly”. They allow pets, yes, but give specific, non-pet friendly instructions with check in including keeping animals downstairs entirely and to not leave them alone for fear of barking. True animal people do not consider this pet-friendly. Bedrooms are upstairs, not ideal if your pet sleeps in your bedroom with you. If you have young kids, bring a baby gate. The stairs are very steep and not safe for most small children to navigate alone.

The location was wonderful, a new part of town for us on the westside. We found the unit to be dark inside with several of the light fixtures not working. The manager was responsive but seemed to be on a tight budget.
