Drombrow Cottage

The location was excellent, hidden along a very quiet country road, with a private drive to park two cars if needed. Rosie and Urs were very friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful - a lovely couple. All rooms where well stocked with everything you'd expect - extra towels, kitchen utensils, binoculars for spotting local wildlife plenty of brochures for local sightseeing opportunities and an eclectic collection of books and dvds for a cozy evening in. The water pressure for the shower was very good and the tap water gets very hot. To top it all off, after a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed, there were goats in the nearby field, accessible from the drive upon request, one of which is very happy to be petted. Various other farm animals can also be spotted nearby.

There where a couple of things that we missed, but nothing dire. One was wifi to look up our day trips a bit better as phone signal and reception can be weak and questionable, and a washing machine. There is a washing line outside and clothes pegs. Due to the layout and location of the cottage and the extraordinary dry and warm weather, the whole place heated up quite a bit and it would have helped to have some netting or similar to be able to open the bedroom door to the patio after dark without letting uninvited guests in. But this is likely a recent issue that probably hasn't happened very often. Keeping the curtains closed helped during our stay.

It was very comfortable in a beautiful location surrounded by nature.

The quietest place we have ever stayed. Beautiful location that feels like the middle of nowhere. Quirky building that has everything you could need and extras too - like a log fire

Location as described, but hard to find. Hosts not available, and directions only given to their home, not the rental property

Very uncomfortable sofa - ikea style sofa bed. Log burner not working and no information about central heating. Bedding didn’t smell particularly fresh.
