tranquil apartment near Kenmare

Die Höflichkeit von Sheila war unbeschreiblich gut. Wir hatten ein Baby, und sie hat uns angeboten, unsere Babysachen zu waschen, weil unser Sohn, die mal schnell dreckig gemacht hat und die Aussicht von der Terrasse aus.

We zijn heel warm ontvangen, we voelden ons heel welkom. Er was duidelijk moeite gedaan. Het verblijf was fijn en ontspannen. Uitzicht prachtig, jammer geen raam op ooghoogte :)

Quelques petites choses à améliorer mais qui ne diminuent en rien le confort et le sentiment cosy

The property was private and quiet. 20 mins from Kenmare. It is a larger apartment than we were expecting - 3 rooms. It was well equipt and even included a caffetierre in the kitchen cupboard. The host left us chocolates, a small bottle of wine and milk which was great. The main room had a nice feel about it and was good for getting back to in the evening. There was a good TV and Netflix - although we only had time to use this once. I liked the bathroom as it was bright - lots of nice, clean white towels.

First impressions were not good. There is a reason there are no outside photos of the property. There are two houses on the site and outside, and array of various bits of detritis, dead plants in weird containers and odd bits of furniture. The view is nice. The apartment 'plaques' were home-made and were so bad it was quite amusing. The front door area was adorned with 3 old plastic tubs containing dead plants. We let ourselves in and ascended the stairs to the apartment. It was much bigger than we were expecting. It is not clear from the description that there is a main living area with a kitchen area, and a very large bedroom. The bedroom contained a double bed (not a good matress), 2 single beds, a very long futton and 2 pouffes. There were no wardrobes, chest of drawers or dressing table. The main area had an assortment of furniture and a table and chairs which was great. The bathroom had no proper shower or shower curtain and needed a surface around the basin to put things on. Both main rooms had several access doors into the roof void that were all sealed in silver tape. The standard of woodwork and finishing throughout was unbelievably bad. Having said all this, our stay was fine. We were not in the apartment much. You wouldn't want to spend the day there, but you could enjoy an evening in the space. It would be great for a young family with the huge bedroom. It wouldn't take much to make this a really nice place. Tidy up the outside and throw away all the tubs, get some nice outdoor furniture and get a carpenter/handyman in to bring the apartment up to standard.
