The very helpful staff and tranquility.

To be clear, the views, deck and turtles are what you paying for and coming for. Absolutely breathtaking views, stunning beaches close by if you can get yourself to leave the deck. Turtles (when you are lucky) and tons of fish in the bay. Don’t listen to the complaints about the breakfast- it’s great. I had one other meal in the restaurant and it was great. Although the rooms are rustic, everything works well: AC is awesome, hot showers, good WiFi. Again, that deck and those views. I wouldn’t recommend a room without a view. Overall, good value for money. Comfortable bed and pillows. Make sure you visit the surrounding beaches and walk through the forest.

The rooms are a little run down for sure and a little decor and paint could really make this place really great. The linen and bedding could also have been of a better quality.

Location, right by the sea

The room was a little tired

The staff were so wonderful; the host was very welcoming and friendly. When our roof began to leak he didn’t hesitate to offer us a different room for the night. The location is great if you’re looking for peace and quiet only. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful, you will leave feeling full and satisfied. The scenery and views are incredible! Such a gorgeous panoramic view out into the ocean with fish and turtles swimming around. There are some friendly cats walking around who are the sweetest! The surrounding beaches looked lovely, we didn’t get to enjoy them due to the stormy weather! Going back to the host, he was brilliant pointing out turtles and giving us fish food to feed. He also arranged a tour to Lopes Mendes which is stunning! It cost R$200 per person which we thought was reasonable. The natiga boat also drops you onto the private jetty of the Pousada which is fab!

Sadly, there were a few things that left us feeling like this was marketed far too expensive for what we got. The room we had was small, basic and needs updating. Albeit a quiet room, it was so damp you could smell it as soon as you walked in. All of our clothes and belongings were damp, as well as the bed sheets which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. When we stayed in the different room upstairs this room was not damp, so it may only be our room (junior suite). The pool was out of action the whole time we were there (5 days!) which was frustrating. The sea was so dirty on the first day we arrived, we saw faeces and a dead mouse in the water which made us not want to get in. If you want to paddleboard or snorkel, you have to pay extra for this (we thought it was included but it wasn’t). It might’ve been nice to offer the equipment free of charge while the pool was out of action as it left us simply sitting around. The restaurants in the area are quite expensive but there are some nice pizza places just a short walk away.
