Amazing location needs a few improvements

The property is amazing. Right on the water and just a few minutes walk to two beautiful beaches, this location is a dream come true. There are comfortable shaded areas for hanging out any time of day, and a lot of options for high quality water gear that you can rent. We ate at the restaurant every day and it was delicious. Most of all, the staff were all super helpful, very patient, and so kind.

Overall, this place is amazing! There were some small things that could be improved. For one, it was inconvenient that there are no beach towels provided. It left us trying to use one towel to bathe and one towel to swim between two of us. Also, there were a few things in our bathroom that needed repairs: a loose toilet seat, a broken shower soap dish, and a shower head that pointed toward the wall. Plus, no hot showers. The final issue we had was with a night boat trip. Our boat driver was drinking at dinner and drinking while he was driving the boat back to the hotel. This is a very serious disregard for safety and for hotel guests and it made us very uncomfortable.

Overall the pousada could be better kept. Stairs in need of repair, gardens could be better tended for. While we were there they were painting the decks and doing some maintenance in the grounds

Perfect location for snorkeling and great staff!

breakfast was really good! Simple but good ingredients - good bread, good ham and cheese, plenty of fruits.

The room itself was pretty bare - the TV did not work (i think the poor wifi connection does not work for Android TV). The ceiling fan electrical wiring very apparent. The led light on the A/C was very bright during the night.

A short stay in a little piece of paradise

The location was perfect, right at the water’s edge and surrounded by nature. There were several restaurants within a 10 minute walk and a lovely beach just 5 mins away. Sonia was extremely friendly and helpful. No English is spoken by the staff but we still managed to communicate.

A wonderful hotel with excellent staff!

Sonia and the rest of the team were wonderful! They were so helpful and kind and accommodating. The location is perfect! So peaceful and beautiful. We loved our stay and would definitely go back again!

Amazing! Super cute room for family of 5 with 3 single beds upstairs and double downstairs. Beautiful view of the ocean. I don’t know if we were lucky or perhaps it was just the season but we swam with turtles right from the private dock of the hotel every day, multiple times. At least 3 turtles were present all the time and could be seen just relaxing on the dock. Snorkeling was fab tons of fish of a large variety. The bed was large and very comfortable. The caipirinhas were on point, and I should know I’ve drank many! Hosts very smiley and helpful despite my terrible Portuguese. Super happy I booked here, stayed with my older parents and 3 teenage kids and we all loved it very much. Short walk to 2 beaches and the start of the hiking trail. Close to a large variety of restaurants. Can’t rate this highly enough and wished I’d stayed here last time I visited Ilha Grande

Clean, comfortable, friendly vibe, family run and relaxed living

Rose and George are wonderful hosts who made me and my friend very comfortable from the moment we arrived. They gave us loads of information on what we could do nearby, but also left us to it which was perfect as we came to relax on the beaches. The location is STUNNING, and really convenient to get a boat from Angra Dos Reis direct to the pousada, which was good for our wheelie suitcases! The nearest beach is a ten minute walk on sandy paths, so otherwise would have been difficult. I was able to rent a kayak for the day for £16, and there are loads of beautiful spots to see nearby within walking distance, while the area stayed nice and quiet (visiting in August). We were able to wash some clothes at the pousada, and our room was kept nice and clean every day.

We had a wonderful time, this is a great place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful vacation.

Breakfast was great and the location can't be beat. Rose was a wonderful hostess. The room our children stayed in had decent mattresses.

In the room my wife and I stayed in, the full sized mattress was... hard... like... it felt like a piece of plywood with very little padding over it.

Beautiful secluded pousada

Rosi was the loveliest host. She went above and beyond to help us! The location is also really beautiful and secluded, they have paddle boards and snorkeling available right there. You can easily walk to 2 beaches and if you like hiking you can hike to the green lagoon and other beaches. Also a fantastic breakfast.

Be aware that it is not very easy to access from Abraao, but perfect if you're coming from the mainland. Our room wasn't the best, a little damp and dark. However the views outside were incredible.

Regarding the prices for the room and food in the pousada, this was insufficient and a rip-off.

The breakfast was good, but no vegan options and all vegtarian options were with lactose. So be aware. The pousada itself is located directly at the water which is very nice. There are a lot of options to eat elsewhere and I'd advise you to do so.

In the daytime, it felt like the owners didn't want you to stay at the pousada and relax, also wifi was only available for about an hour at night. So most people spent the day away (so did we). We booked a deluxe room with sea view. The first night we spent in a room with no sea view at all and a shower which was broken. The second night we got the sea view room but everything was full of mold and mosquitos while the "fresh" sheets had stains and smelled. I contacted the pousada beforehand if they'd have any vegan or vegetarian options and they told me it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived, there was literally no options apart from a salad. They were super ennoyed when you asked them to make something different and most options on the card weren't even available. The cardapio was the same for most of pousada's on this side of the island and the prices were pretty high. The problem was, that the food wasn't even good at cruzoe. We discovered a pousada about 1 hour hike away which had the same cardapio and they were super nice and keen to make something vegetarian for us. I'm more than happy to pay for good food and I am aware that it needs to be transported to the island.

The room with a view was magical

Location and the warm and caring host were outstanding. Seafood prepared by the chef who arrived second evening was tasty and plenty. Pousada Cruzoe is well managed and deserves our comeback, probably next time in mid season and not winter or high season summer.

Not much to critizise…Wifi could be better at times though. Was difficult monitoring important stuff like banking business, emails etc.

Overall lovely staff, but facilities overall need a bit of TLC, especially if charging the same as other posadas nearby.

Rosa and Fabio are very, very sweet and accommodating - extremely welcoming and helpful. Rosa’s cakes for breakfast are some of the best I ever had. Location is great and loved seeing Sophia the sea turtle swim by every morning.

A few notes: 1. The mini-fridge was unfortunately full of mold. The fridge was unplugged so what I’m assuming is happening is condensation builds up when it’s on then unplugged when people leave and with the heat, you get mold. 2. Lost water one morning (but quickly fixed). The ocean had caused some damage to the pipes the week before that they were still working through. 3. Electric showerhead went out during our last shower :( Very, very cold last shower experience 4. The overall breakfast was somewhat disappointing (less options) compared to other’s we have experienced in Araçatiba. 5. Didn’t realize room with balcony didn’t automatically mean seaview included as well. Had a mostly blocked view (by roof) from our hammock.

The staff is incredible. Ms Isabel was an extraordinary hostess and Eduardo as well. I cannot left Ezequiel aside, as he was always receptive whenever we request or comment on something. The place is amazing, extraordinary symply and delicious breakfast. Sure is a place to return.

Muelle en medio del mar

La ubicación es increíble, ya q siempre tenes la luz del sol y la vista panorámica inmejorable para desayunar y cenar o simplemente descansar. Desde allí podes acceder caminando al resto de las playas, tanto para el norte como el sur. La comida es muy buena y disfrutamos el clásico menú. Brindan asesoramiento claro para poder llegar, y diferentes medios de traslados. Super recomendables!

Idéalement placé en surplomb de la mer, très agréable avec ses terrasses couvertes vue sur mer. Chambre très petite mais vue sur mer et propre. Les gâteaux maison du petit dej sont un régal, la patronne est très sympa et très aidante. Excellente pâtes aux fruits de mer.

El desayuno excelente, muy abundante y sobre todo porque uno lo toma mirando el mar con una hermosa vista. La ubicación, excelente. La atención de Sonia fue excelente. Atenta,simpática, siempre preocupada porque estemos cómodos,nos proponía y gestionaba las actividades ,qud son muy variadas. Y la cocina de Padrinho.........espectacular. Todo de lo mejor.

Calme et tranquilité garantis

La vue, l'emplacement sont fabuleux. Déconnexion garantie. Chambre confortable mais pas très grande. Petit déjeuner et restaurant sur place très sympa. La plage d'Araçatiba est toute proche et il y a aussi des restaurants. Attention la pousada n'est accessible que par flex-boat au départ de Angra dos Reis. On ne peut pas partir d'un autre port (mangaratiba par exemple) pour y aller, mais Sonia vous écrit pour vous expliquez la marche à suivre.
