About this apartment rental

In the heart of Old Town, with the beautiful community of private homes and condominiums of Truman Annex, this Shipyard Condominium has great access to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach as well as the Historic Old Town Key West. This beautifully decorated first floor condominium on Southard Street has two bedrooms, one full and one half bathrooms.

The living room is nicely furnished with leather sofas, tv with DVD and high speed internet along with a fully equipped kitchen and dinette area to accommodate four people. One bedroom has been upgraded to a king bed, while the front bedroom has a queen bed. A large back deck gets ample sun and just enjoy the Key West weather. The association pool is just a short distance away.

Place was amazing, we booked months ahead of our trip and the original place we booked had construction come up during our stay so they called and asked if they could put us in another spot for no additional charge. It had everything the other had and then some. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great and their communication, hospitality and help were top notch! Will def stay again next time we are in the keys

We were very impressed with the condo itself, the decor, the amenities of washer and dryer, the pool, we like sitting on the deck and the location was superb. We enjoyed going over to Fort Zachary, Taylor Park and Beach. We went down to Duvall and to the historic Seaport and did lots of activities. We went to celebrate our 62nd birthdays and had a blast. Thank you so much and we definitely will recommend this location and I would certainly stay there again.

We were within walking distance of Ft Taylor waterfront park, many restaurants, Duval is a couple blocks away and the free bus stop a block away. Great location, pool was busy but everyone friendly and plenty of places to sit/lounge. I highly recommend this spot.

A little difficult to figure out how to find your rental and parking. The space was beautiful and clean, things were tight but definitely works. I had to call a couple of times for various questions and the staff was very quick, friendly, and responsive. The location was perfect!

My husband and I try to visit Key West every year in Nov. or Dec. We have wanted to stay in the Truman Annex area for soetime. This listing was perfect. It has everything you need. All the conveniences of home. The location is great. Close to the activity but very quiet. It was very clean and check-in was a breeze. It is a small property that accommodates 4 adults. There were only two of us but it may be cramped with 4. We used one bedroom to keep our luggage in. We would definitely stay here again. We did not use the pool so I cannot comment on that.

Enjoy the Shipyard units and area. This unit is a nice, clean and updated unit with a very nice back deck area - the ground floor units are smaller to make way for the staircase to the second floor unit, but the deck out the back more than makes up for it. We felt it was perfect for our family for four.

The location was fabulous!!! We drove down from the Everglades, parked the car and never used it again until we left for airport. The property is so convenient- close to restaurants, beach, coffee shops, Hemingway House and more!!! The property managers were very helpful and great to work with. This holiday was to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary as 30 years ago we came to Key West as part of our honeymoon and thought it would be a great idea to re-visit. And we had no regrets... From the moment we turned into the street, to parking our car in the secure car park and then accessing the property, we knew we had chosen an absolutely perfect place to call 'home' from which to enjoy our week in Key West. Beautifully decorated and maintained inside and out. All the amenities you would need. Perfect. We had a slight issue with the front door lock. However, a call into the property management office, and within a short space of time one of the maintenance team arrived, worked on the lock and resolved our issue. Top marks and our huge thanks for the response and commitment. We were so happy with everything: the decor, the property, the location. Perfect. Our grateful thanks to the owners for such a fantastic place to stay. We will be back!

Cute place! Quiet and clean. No Air when Arrived and had to wait for the maintenance person. No Cable TV from Friday until Tuesday. Loved the atmosphere and everything was comfy. Would stay there again.

This condo is cute, but very small for a 2 bedroom. I ended up being glad our friends didn't join us. There wouldn't have been enough room for 4 adults. The bathrooms are very small. There is nowhere to store closing - closets were jammed with extra bedding, and no dresser drawers. We had to lay all our things on the spare bed, and live out of the suitcases for a week. The bathroom is very hard to get ready in. Small mirror right next to the wall, so you can't see your entire face to do make up, or head to do hair without standing up against the wall. The room smelled a bit musty too. Very cutely decorated, but we will definitely need something larger next time. Thanks!

Communication was very easy by both email and phone. Our flights were cancelled on our day of departure. I called and let them know and they said just to call when we arrived for the code to the key pad. We arrived, I called and got the code with no issues. There was some information on the counter waiting for us which was helpful, codes for parking, WiFi and how to access the pool. The condo is beautifully decorated and perfectly located. We had a car but did not need it. We walked out the door and felt like we were right near everything we wanted to see. The pool area was nice. The back deck was great to sit out both in the morning and at the end of the night. A/C worked great. Condo had everything you need. Only suggestion would be to have some sort of storage for clothing in the back bedroom. Would 100% stay here again!

When this unit was furnished, every little detail was included for the convenience of guests. At first we were surprised that we were directly on Southard Street (main route to Ft. Zachary Taylor), but we never were aware of street noise. Back patio lovely. Dog next door yippy at times.

For $190.00 cleaning fee, no way the floors are mopped. This starts on day one. The condo is small, and can’t take long to clean. I’m not complaining about price, just condition Avondale arrive. When you get in shower, mud pies.

Overall we were happy with our time here. The location can't be beat for accessing town, and the pool and nearby parks were wonderful. Kitchen was updated and good appliances, although we wished we had more eating utensils and baking pans. The back deck is absolutely superb. Our interactions with the property manager were excellent. We wished we could open the windows, however, to let fresh air in. The supplied high-powered fan was very helpful but we had to keep the front and back doors open to circulate air. The washer/dryer worked well for our needs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

The unit was stocked with everything we needed. The dining table was wobbly and frustrating to play games on but we were able to make it work.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our stay at Shipyard Palms and our visit to Key West. We certainly see why people fall in love with this place. The condo was perfect for the two of us. We prefer staying somewhere we have a full kitchen facility and felt right at home. Anything you could possibly want or need was in the condo. We were in heaven when we walked out the front door to the tree lined streets with the white picket fences. The backyard was quaint with it's deck, table and chairs. I always felt safe. We were literally blocks from everything.

We rented bikes for a few days as well as a scooter and we covered a LOT of ground. But that's what we like to do. Ft Zackary Taylor State Park was close by and we found the beach there to be one of the better ones.

We also did the day trip to the Dry Tortugas and I would highly recommend that as well.

Yes the powder room was a bit small and yes the bed could have been a bit more comfy but those were minor. The pool areas were neat and clean.
