Modernised Bach at the beautiful and secluded Long Beach.

Lovely space, great to have the option of heat pumps and wood burner. Beds very comfy and well-configured, plus good appliances in the kitchen and laundry. A few odd things missing, like the glass for the cafetiere, the machine for the hand whisk, or any drinking glasses at all (just wine glasses or plastic tumblers), but we had a lovely time here, even with a power cut on the first night!

We had the most wonderful 3-day stay at this Long Beach beach house. Honestly, the photos didn’t even come close to capturing how beautiful and welcoming the place truly is. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the layout was absolutely perfect for our group of six climbers - plenty of space to relax together, as well as spots to unwind quietly when we needed it.Being just a 10-minute walk from the crag made our days so easy, and coming back “home” each evening felt like a treat. It was the ideal place to relax, recharge, and enjoy good food, laughter, and friendships after long days on the wall.I couldn’t recommend this beach home more highly. We’ll all be back, and we’ve already started telling our friends about it. Thank you, Ernie, for providing everything we needed and more - your place truly made our trip special.

A Hidden Gem at Long Beach, DunedinWe had a truly wonderful stay at this holiday home in Long Beach. The house itself is top-notch—beautifully maintained, well-equipped, and finished to a high standard. It felt more like a cozy retreat than just accommodation. The surroundings were peaceful and serene, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Whether you're after quiet reflection or just a quality place to unwind, this spot delivers. Highly recommended!

So this review is a bit difficult because the property is exactly as described a nice place very quiet and good for a few days away. But in our case there was a problem. The property is on tank water and the tanks were totally empty. Which meant even the toilets didn't flush and it got pretty gross carrying buckets of water from the neighbours to flush toilets. It's tough to communicate at this property because cell coverage is very poor so it was hard to fix the problem. Tanker water turned up 24 hours later some 3 hours latter than scheduled so most of the day was spent waiting. The owner was out of town and he didn't know much about the water system anyway so we had to restart pumps and check pipework ourselves. In the end everything was fine but he first day was a bit grubby and epic. Without this issue I would have given a 4.5 out of 5.
