Welcome to When Pigs Fly – Your Gulf Shores Vacation Escape!
Enjoy the perfect mix of comfort and convenience at When Pigs Fly, a charming beach duplex located just two rows from the Gulf. With a private pool and stunning views, this home is ideal for a relaxing getaway. The exclusive pool can be heated from October through May for $60 per day and is fully fenced with gated decks, making it a safe space for pets. We welcome up to two dogs for an additional pet fee of $348.
Spacious Beach Duplex – Ideal for Large Groups
When Pigs Fly is a stacked duplex, meaning one unit sits directly above the other. Each floor features the same layout, but the upstairs unit offers a special perk—a Rooftop Crow's Nest with panoramic views of the beach and Little Lagoon.
This home is available as a full rental, except for January and February.
- 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms total (3 bedrooms, 2 baths per unit)
- Accommodates 12-16 guests (maximum of 12 adults)
Each Unit Features:
- Spacious living area with French doors opening to a beach-view covered porch
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Large King primary bedroom with TV, private bath, and porch access
- Two Queen bedrooms
- Queen sleeper sofa (upstairs unit) & two Twin air mattresses available upon request (downstairs unit)
- Full-size laundry room
- Smaller porch with serene lagoon views
- Free Wi-Fi
Exclusive to the Upper Unit:
- Jetted tub in the primary bathroom
- Under-counter ice maker in the kitchen island
- Stairs leading to the Rooftop Crow's Nest for breathtaking views
Outdoor Amenities:
- Private pool with poolside table, chairs, and lounge chairs
- Charcoal grill and shaded picnic table under the house
- Beach chairs, beach carts, and pool toys available for guest use

Rental Policies & Additional Information
- No rentals to groups under the age of 25
- No bachelor or bachelorette parties
- For Hangout Music Festival, a $1,000 refundable damage/cleaning deposit is required

Absolutely loved our stay at “when pigs fly”. The host was very responsive and the amenities were fantastic. The kitchen is very well stocked and the house was immaculately clean. We would definitely stay here again.Thanks for a great place to stay!

Great location and perfect property layout for two families with kids. The pool was warm and clean and the hosts were easy to communicate with.

The property worked for us, but was not quite as nice as the pictures seemed. I did not realize before we got there that there would be no way to access the upstairs unit without using the outside stairs. Therefore, we were a little more separated from the rest of the family than what we were hoping.
The location was nice. It was within walking distance to the beach. I appreciated that they had a wagon and beach chairs/sand toys that we were able to use. We were able to walk to the beach even with 6 children in tow. I would have preferred to be on the beach, but this was a good compromise. It was a close drive to restaurants/stores/attractions. There was a pier within walking distance that we were able to fish off of.
The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is bc the pictures make it look far nicer than it was. The floor was dirty. My daughter’s feet were black from walking around barefoot. The floor was taped down in some areas. The bathtubs and showers really could use an update. We could tell that they had been cleaned, but they were stained and looked dirty still. The upstairs bathtub is jetted and was very discolored. I would also recommend some new pillows. My husband and I struggled with the pillows and stuffed beach towels underneath them. I also would have preferred to have some rooms with bunk beds or twin beds to accommodate children. It was tricky to sleep them in full size beds.
