The host tried to convince me to pay him more even though I had already paid on Booking. He mumbled something about bank fees. When I called him on it, he backed off.

When we got there had to wait for a while in the cold for them to come and answer the door to check us in. The road behind our room was very noisy with cars screaming up and down all night 😭 Would benefit to have better Windows keep the noise out

The maintenance of all common areas; kitchen/bathroom were exceptional. Very satisfying to see the hygiene standards were excellent! Although a bit of a mix up with the room booking for first night, we felt secure with the extra security of having cameras in all main common areas - were able to leave room doors open when popping out for a few minutes. Felt safe

When others 'stomped' around like herd of elephants - some people just are not aware of how heavy-footed they are, but this is to be expected given the amount of travelers that came through the mini-homestay while we were there

Large space for a family of 3

We liked the spacious space of the room that they gave us and the way the staff accommodated us even if we arrived late at night.

Maybe our expectations were too high but we are not disappointed with the place considering the price. (This was our first time booking a place so we didn't know what are the standard prices were.)

Perfect for a short stay

Everything’s there, big kitchen and nice bathrooms. The room is super clean and perfect for a night. Tracey is lovely and we could arrange a late check out and could leave our luggage there.

Close to the airport (although not a very nice area). Friendly owner by phone/text. Comfortable bed. Premises clean. Good bathroom and showers.

Arrived in the evening to find windows wide open on a freezing Auckland night! No way of heating the room and the owners answer was “put more blankets on the bed”. There’s no heating anywhere on the premises - is this legal? Accommodation was not we expected (maybe we didn’t read enough reviews) as it’s a glorified hostel. Self check in/out, no shoes allowed inside, old house, questionable neighbourhood, dog barking most of the night…

The location. It's far from the city. It was creppy outside of the place. There was a purple light blinking all the time with a little door at the door. There weren't stores, supermarkets, or bakery close. It was expensive
